Socialistes De Catalunya
Socialists of Catalonia ( ca, Socialistes de Catalunya, PSC–PSOE) was an electoral alliance formed to contest the 1977 Spanish Congress of Deputies election in Catalonia, comprising both the Socialist Party of Catalonia–Congress (PSC–C) and the Catalan Socialist Federation (PSOE). It was dissolved in 1978 when its two components merged with the Socialist Party of Catalonia–Regrouping (PSC–R) into the Socialists' Party of Catalonia (PSC). For the Senate of Spain, the alliance supported the aligned Agreement of the Catalans coalition, which was participated by both the PSC–C and the PSOE. History The alliance was conceived within the Catalan parties' efforts at reorganizing the centre-left electoral space ahead of the 1977 Spanish general election. The Socialists' Party of Catalonia ( ca, Partit dels Socialistes de Catalunya, PSC–PSOE official acronym) is a social-democratic political party in Catalonia, Spain, resulting from the merger of three parties: the Socialist Party of Catalonia–Regrouping, led by Josep Pallach i Carolà, the Socialist Party of Catalonia–Congress, and the Catalan Federation of the PSOE. It is the Catalan instance of the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE), and its Aranese section is Unity of Aran. The party had also been allied with federalist and republican political platform Citizens for Change (''Ciutadans pel Canvi'') until the 2010 election. PSC–PSOE has its power base in the Barcelona metropolitan area and the ''comarques'' of Tarragonès, Montsià, and Val d'Aran. Joan Reventós
Joan Reventós i Carner (born 26 July 1927 in Barcelona; died 13 January 2004 in Barcelona) was the 10th President of the Parliament of Catalonia (1995–1999). He had previously been Minister without Portfolio, from 1977 to 1980. Reventós joined the PSUC in 1976 and the following year was elected to the Spanish national parliament as a deputy for Barcelona Province serving until 1980.
