The Socialist Party ( sh-Cyrl-Latn, Социјалистичка Партија, СП, separator=" / ", Socijalistička Partija, SP) is a social-democratic political party in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Formed on 2 June 1993 in Banja Luka, it served as one of the first democratic alternatives to nationalist government of Republika Srpska. The chairman of the Council of Ministers is nominated by the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and appointed by the House of Representatives of Bosnia and Herzegovina. As head of the government, the chairman of the Council of Ministers has no authority for appointing ministers, and his role is that of a coordinator. Živko Radišić
Živko Radišić ( sr-Cyrl, Живко Радишић, ; 15 August 1937 – 5 September 2021) was a Bosnian Serb politician who served as the 2nd Serb member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina from 1998 to 2002. Previously, from 1977 until 1982, he was the mayor of Banja Luka. Career Born in Prijedor, Kingdom of Yugoslavia, present-day Bosnia and Herzegovina, on 15 August 1937, Radišić graduated in 1964 from the University of Sarajevo Faculty of Political Science. During the 1969 Banja Luka earthquake, he was a high ranking Banja Luka city government official, and thus, was directly in charge of repairing the consequences from the earthquake. Later on, from 1977 until 1982, Radišić served as the mayor of Banja Luka. From 1982 to 1985, he headed the defence ministry of SR Bosnia and Herzegovina. The presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina ( sh-Latn-Cyrl, Predsjedništvo Bosne i Hercegovine, separator=" / ", Предсједништво Босне и Херцеговине) is a three-member body which collectively serves as head of state of Bosnia and Herzegovina. According to Article V of the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the presidency comprises three members: one Bosniak, one Serb, and one Croat. Voters decided the President of Republika Srpska and the 83 members of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska. 2000 Republika Srpska General Election
General elections were held in Republika Srpska on 11 November 2000 alongside nationwide parliamentary elections. They were the third general elections in Republika Srpska since the end of Bosnian War. After refusing to nominate Milorad Dodik as Prime Minister, President Nikola Poplašen was deposed in 1999 after less than a year in position by Carlos Westendorp, the High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina. Petar Đokić was named acting president until election. In the meantime Poplašen's Serbian Radical Party was banned from elections.
