Sobha Hi-tech city is a planned industry township for knowledge-based companies to be constructed in Kochi, India. The project, being constructed by Sobha Developers Ltd, will come up at Maradu. With an initial investment of Rs. 50 billion, the project also has the single highest investment in Kerala. On completion, the project is expected to have of developed space for research, trade and development in Information technology, biotechnology, electronic hardware and other knowledge based services. The project would be among the largest such ventures in the country, and is expected to generate over 75,000 direct jobs. There were major opposition to the project from parties in the ruling Left Democratic Front and environmental activists alleging massive destruction to the environment. Sobha Brahma (14 October 1929 – 2012) was an Indian painter and sculptor. He lived and worked in Guwahati. He graduated from the Kalabhavana Visva-Bharati University Shantiniketan West-Bengal. Brahma developed a unique individual style that mixed traditional folk and modern Indian art. He served as the Principal of the Government College Of Arts and Crafts Assam, as the Vice-Chairman of the prominent cultural centre Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra, set up under the Assam Accord, and as a member of the general council of Lalit Kala Akademi. Sardar Bahadur Sir Sobha Singh, OBE (1890 – 18 April 1978) was an Indian civil contractor, prominent builder and real estate developer of Delhi. He is the father of Indian writer Khushwant Singh. Early life Sardar Bahadur Sobha Singh was born in 1890, in the village of Hadali in Khushab, Shahpur District – then part of British India (now Pakistan). He was the elder of the two sons of Sujan Singh and Lakshmi Devi, the younger one being Sardar Ujjal Singh, who was a member of Parliament in India from the state of Punjab. Sobha Singh (29 November 1901 – 22 August 1986) was an artist from Punjab, India, Punjab, India. Early life Sardar Sobha Singh was born on 29 November 1901 in a Sikh family in Sri Hargobindpur, Gurdaspur district of Punjab (British India), Punjab. His father, Deva Singh, was in the Indian cavalry. Sobha Singh joined British Indian Army as a draughtsman in 1919 and served at Iraq till 1923 when he resigned from the Army and opened his own studio at Amritsar in 1923. He moved to Lahore, Preet Nagar, Delhi, and Bombay before finally settling down in Andretta in 1947 as he was forced to leave Lahore due to the partition of India. Sobha is a 1958 Indian Telugu-language drama film directed by Kamalakara Kameswara Rao. It stars N. T. Rama Rao and Anjali Devi. The film was produced by Ponnaluri Brothers under the Sri Lakshmi Prasanna Pictures banner. Music was composed by A. M. Rajah in his debut. ''Sobha'' was a remake of the Hindi film '' Dulari'' (1949). The film was recorded as a ''Hit'' at the box office. Plot Seetamma (Hemalatha) a widow, has a daughter Sobha. Mahalakshmi Menon, best known by her stagename Shobha (23 September 1962 – 1 May 1980), was an Indian actress best known for her work in Malayalam and Tamil films. At the age of 17, she won the National Film Award for Best Actress for her role in the 1979 Tamil film ''Pasi''. She also received three Kerala State Film Awards: for Best Actress (1978), Best Supporting Actress (1977) and Best Child Artist (1971); and two Filmfare Awards South for Best Actress in Kannada (1978) and Tamil (1979) films.
