The SoCal Lashings, also known as the Los Angeles Lashings, are an American professional Twenty20 franchise cricket team that competes in Minor League Cricket (MiLC) and other T20 Cricket tournaments across the USA. The team's home base is in Los Angeles. Lashings was named in 2020 as part of the 24 original teams to compete in Minor League Cricket USA. The franchise is co-owned by Abhimanyu Rajp and Deepak Gosain. The team's current home ground is the Leo Magnus Cricket Complex, located in the neighborhood of Van Nuys, Los Angeles. Dale Phillips currently helms responsibility as captain, with Elmore Hutchinson standing by as vice-captain. Minor League Cricket
Minor League Cricket (branded as the Toyota Minor League Cricket Championship presented by Sling TV for sponsorship reasons, and sometimes shortened to MiLC) is an American Twenty20 cricket developmental league for Major League Cricket which completed its first season in 2021, after it was delayed from a mid-to-late 2020 start due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It consists of 26 teams from four regions. The league began its regional draft process in late-August 2020, and a series of exhibition games in September 2020. The draft for the league began on June 4, 2021. The Strikers won the inaugural finals against the New Jersey Stallions by 6 Wicket#Winning by number of wickets, wickets, with the Thunderbolts winning the 2022 finals against the Atlanta Fire by 10 runs. Shiva Vashishat (born November 10, 1989) is an American cricketer who made his debut for the United States national cricket team in July 2015. A right-handed all-rounder bowling leg spin, he earlier captained the U.S. under-19 side at the 2010 Under-19 World Cup. Born in Jalandhar, Punjab, Vashishat emigrated to the United States with his family at the age of 10, and was raised in San Jose, California, where he attended Del Mar High School. His early cricket was played in the San Francisco Bay Area, though he has since played for teams in several California-based leagues. Off spin is a type of finger spin bowling in cricket. A bowler who uses this technique is called an off spinner. Off spinners are right-handed spin bowlers who use their fingers to spin the ball. The 2022 Minor League Cricket season (branded as the 2022 Toyota Minor League Cricket championship presented by Sunoco for sponsorship reasons and sometimes shortened to 2022 MiLC) will be the second season of Minor League Cricket, established by USA Cricket (USAC) and Major League Cricket (MLC) in 2019.
