Snow Fairy
Snow Fairy (foaled 12 February 2007) is a retired Thoroughbred racehorse who was bred in Ireland and trained in England by Ed Dunlop. She made little impression on the racecourse as a two-year-old, winning only one race out of six. She started her three-year-old season well, winning a listed race. Snow Fairy then started The Oaks at 12/1. Ridden by Ryan Moore, she won by a neck. Again ridden by Moore, she won the Irish Oaks easily. When taking on older horses for the first time in the Yorkshire Oaks, she finished second to Midday. Following a run in the St Leger, she went to Japan and won the Queen Elizabeth II Commemorative Cup followed by the Hong Kong Cup. As a four-year-old in 2011, she won the Queen Elizabeth II Commemorative Cup for a second time, but also placed in a number of top races, including third in the Arc de Triomphe and second in the Irish Champion Stakes. Ryan Moore (jockey)
Ryan Lee Moore (born 18 September 1983) is an English flat racing jockey, who was Champion Jockey in 2006, 2008 and 2009. He is currently the first choice jockey for Aidan O'Brien's Ballydoyle operation, a role in which he mainly rides horses owned by Coolmore Stud. He also sometimes rides horses for Juddmonte and The Queen. Family Moore is the son of successful trainer and former jump jockey Gary L. Moore, and brother to jump jockeys Jamie Moore and Joshua Moore, and top amateur jockey Hayley Moore. He has four children. He is the grandson of trainer Charlie Moore, a well-known character who lived around the corner from Brighton Racecourse. Frankel (horse)
Frankel (foaled 11 February 2008) is a retired champion British Thoroughbred racehorse and current sire. He was unbeaten in his fourteen-race career and was the highest-rated racehorse in the world from May 2011. In 2010 he defeated a field including subsequent Group 1 winners Nathaniel and Colour Vision on his debut before winning the Royal Lodge Stakes by ten lengths and the Dewhurst Stakes in which he defeated the Middle Park Stakes winner Dream Ahead. As a three-year-old, he won the Classic 2000 Guineas by six lengths, the St James's Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot, defeated the outstanding older miler Canford Cliffs in the much-anticipated Sussex Stakes at Goodwood and won the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes at Ascot. Snow comprises individual ice crystals that grow while suspended in the atmosphere—usually within clouds—and then fall, accumulating on the ground where they undergo further changes. Prix Jean Romanet
The Prix Jean Romanet is a Group races, Group 1 Flat racing, flat Horse racing, horse race in France open to thoroughbred Filly, fillies and mares aged four years or older. It is run over a distance of 2,000 metres (about 1¼ miles) at Deauville-La Touques Racecourse, Deauville in August. History The event is named in memory of Jean Romanet (1914–2003), a prominent figure in French racing. He devoted much of his life to the Société d'Encouragement, and served as general manager of the organisation from 1961 to 1986. The Prix Jean Romanet was established in 2004, and it initially held Group 2 status. It was one of several new races designed to keep more fillies from being exported or prematurely retired to stud. 2011 Prix De L'Arc De Triomphe
The 2011 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe was a horse race held at Longchamp on Sunday 2 October 2011. It was the 90th running of the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe. The winner was Danedream, a three-year-old filly trained in Germany by Peter Schiergen. The winning jockey was Andrasch Starke. Danedream was the second German-trained horse to win the "Arc". The only prior victory was that of Star Appeal in 1975. The winning time of 2m 24.49s set a new record for the event. The previous record of 2m 24.60s was achieved by Peintre Celebre in 1997.
