Snobs (club)
Snobs is a nightclub in Birmingham, England. It is located at 200 Broad Street, Birmingham. The club was founded 50 years ago in 1972, and has been visited by over 2.5 million people during its time. Snobs primarily plays music within the genres of Indie rock, Rock and roll, retro, and Indie pop. The club's original location was on the junction linking Suffolk Street Queensway with Lyon Queensway (formerly Paradise Circus). Indie Rock
Indie rock is a Music subgenre, subgenre of rock music that originated in the United States, United Kingdom and New Zealand from the 1970s to the 1980s. Originally used to describe independent record labels, the term became associated with the music they produced and was initially used interchangeably with alternative rock or "Pop rock, guitar pop rock". Indie pop (also typeset as indie-pop or indiepop) is a music genre and subculture that combines guitar pop with DIY ethic in opposition to the style and tone of mainstream pop music. Ringway Centre
Ringway Centre is a Grade B locally listed building located on Smallbrook Queensway in the city centre of Birmingham, England. The six-storey, long building was designed by architect James Roberts as part of the Inner Ring Road scheme in the 1950s and is notable for its gentle sweeping curved frontal elevation. Completed in 1962, the Ringway Centre was the first part of the Inner Ring Road scheme to be completed, and the only part with street-level shops and footways.
