Snina District
Snina District (''okres Snina'') is a district in the Prešov Region of eastern Slovakia. Until 1918, the district was part of the county of Kingdom of Hungary of Zemplín. Districts Of Slovakia
An okres (in English district) is an administrative unit in Slovakia. It is a second-tier territorial administrative unit, below a Regions of Slovakia, Region in standing, and superior to a municipality. Each district contains at least several municipalities. The cities of Bratislava and Košice are the only cities in Slovakia divided into internal urban districts, with five in Bratislava, and four in Košice. These urban districts are then further divided into smaller boroughs (which serve a function analogous to municipalities in typical districts). All other districts are larger in size and also include rural areas, and rural as well as urban municipalities. Each of these more typical districts has an urban centre serving as the seat of the district, usually the largest town (or the only town) of a given district. Kalná Roztoka
Kalná Roztoka ( rue, Кална Розтока) is a village and municipality in Snina District in the Prešov Region of north-eastern Slovakia. History In historical records, the village was first mentioned around 1554 to 1568. In 1877, the villages of Kalná and Roztoka came together to form the current village. The village is known for its wooden church, which dates back to the early-mid 18th century. The church is constructed of wood, but has white-washed clay plaster on the exterior walls, thus giving the appearance of a masonry building. It is the only Lemko Rusyn church of this sort. Runina is a village and municipality in Snina District in the Prešov Region of north-eastern Slovakia. The first written reference of the village dates back to 1569. The municipality lies at an altitude of 550 metres and covers an area of 22.198 km2. According to the 2013 census it had a population of 75 inhabitants. Príslop
Príslop ( hu, Kispereszlő, rue, Присліп) is a village and municipality in Snina District in the Prešov Region of north-eastern Slovakia. History In historical records the village was first mentioned in 1568. Before the establishment of independent Czechoslovakia in 1918, Príslop was part of Zemplén County within the Kingdom of Hungary. In 1939, it was for a short time part of the Slovak Republic. From 1939 to 1944, as a result of the Slovak–Hungarian War of 1939, it was again part of Hungary. On 26 October 1944, the Red Army entered Príslop and it was once again part of Czechoslovakia. Pčoliné ( hu, Méhesfalva, rue, Пчолине) is a village and municipality in Snina District in the Prešov Region of north-eastern Slovakia. History In historical records the village was first mentioned in 1557. Before the establishment of independent Czechoslovakia in 1918, Pčoliné was part of Zemplén County within the Kingdom of Hungary. From 1939 to 1944, it was part of the Slovak Republic. On 25 November 1944, the Red Army dislodged the Wehrmacht from Pčoliné and it was once again part of Czechoslovakia.
