George W

Norman Breslow
Norman Edward Breslow (February 21, 1941 – December 9, 2015) was an American statistician and medical researcher. At the time of his death, he was Professor (Emeritus) of Biostatistics in the School of Public Health, of the University of Washington. He is co-author or author of hundreds of published works during 1967 to 2015. Among his many accomplishments is his work with co-author Nicholas Day that developed and popularized the use of case-control matched sample research designs, in the two-volume work ''Statistical Methods in Cancer Research''. This was with view that matched sample studies have a role within larger program of many types of studies, in making progress on a vast and important problem like cancer. Sudipto Banerjee (born October 23, 1972) is an Indian-American statistician best known for his work on Bayesian hierarchical modeling and inference for spatial data analysis. He is Professor and Chair of the Department of Biostatistics in the School of Public Health at the University of California, Los Angeles. He served as the 2022 President of the International Society for Bayesian Analysis. Early life and education Banerjee was born in Kolkata, India. Marie Davidian is an American biostatistician known for her work in longitudinal data analysis and precision medicine. She is the J. Stuart Hunter Distinguished Professor of Statistics at North Carolina State University. She was president of the American Statistical Association for 2013. She did her undergraduate studies at the University of Virginia, initially in mechanical engineering but changing her major to applied mathematics after becoming fascinated by statistics in a class taught by David P.
