Neil Stephen Cicierega ( ; born August 23, 1986) is an American comedian, actor, filmmaker, singer, YouTuber, musician, songwriter, puppeteer, artist, and animator. He is known as the creator of a genre of Flash animation he termed " Animutation", the ''Harry Potter'' puppet parody series '' Potter Puppet Pals'', and several music albums under the name Lemon Demon. He also released a series of mashup albums under his own name that have since gained a cult following. Early life Neil Stephen Cicierega was born in Boston, Massachusetts, on August 23, 1986. His father was a programmer, which meant he was surrounded by computers while growing up. He has a brother and two sisters. ''Mouth Sounds'' is a mashup album by American musician Neil Cicierega. The album was released independently by Cicierega on April 27, 2014. Consisting of mashups pairing Top 40 hits of the 1980s and 1990s along with Smash Mouth's " All Star", ''Mouth Sounds'' received positive reviews from music critics. It received a second installment, '' Mouth Silence'', three months later, which followed the same mashup format, a third installment, '' Mouth Moods'', in 2017, and a fourth installment, ''Mouth Dreams'', in 2020. Background Cicierega began work on the album after discovering multiple raw instrument tracks from songs featured on the music video game series ''Rock Band''. Because ''Rock Band'' requires players to control individual instruments for each track, all artists featured in ''Rock Band'' must provide the stems of each song featured in the game. ''Spirit Phone'' is the seventh album by Lemon Demon, a musical project created by American musician Neil Cicierega. Released in 2016, the album was Lemon Demon's first full-length album in eight years. The album was released digitally through Bandcamp on February 29, 2016, and other streaming services the following day. On July 10, 2018, independent label Needlejuice Records announced vinyl, CD and cassette releases, which shipped on October 21, 2018. All tracks were written, performed and recorded by Neil Cicierega. The album's cover art was created by Cicierega's wife, the Massachusetts comic book artist Ming Doyle. The song "Sweet Bod" features a guitar solo by Dave Kitsberg of Time Lord rock group Time Crash. The ''Rock Band'' Network (abbreviated RBN) was a downloadable content service designed by Harmonix with the help of Microsoft to allow musical artists and record labels to make their music available as playable tracks for the ''Rock Band'' series of rhythm video games, starting with '' Rock Band 2''.
