Smithereens (album)
''Smithereens'' is the third studio album by Japanese singer-songwriter Joji, released on 4 November 2022 via 88rising and Warner Records. It was preceded by the singles " Glimpse of Us" and "Yukon (Interlude)". Joji is touring North America in promotion of the record from September 2022. Background The album is divided into two sides, with the first side containing "introspective ballads", while the second side, co-produced by Joji, contains "lo-fi, D.I.Y. sounds". Joji announced the Smithereens Tour over two months ahead of the album alongside the release of the lead single "Glimpse of Us", before officially announcing the album title and release date on 26 August 2022. Singles " Glimpse of Us" was released as the lead single from ''Smithereens'' on 10 June 2022. The song subsequently peaked atop the charts in Australia and New Zealand. Joji (musician)
, known professionally as Joji and formerly for playing the characters Filthy Frank and Pink Guy, is a Japanese singer-songwriter, rapper, former comedian, and YouTuber. Miller's music has been described as a mix between R&B, lo-fi, and trip hop. Miller created "The Filthy Frank Show" on YouTube in 2011 shortly after moving to the United States, gaining recognition for playing oddball characters on the comedy channels TVFilthyFrank, TooDamnFilthy, and DizastaMusic. The channels, which featured comedy hip hop, rants, extreme challenges, and ukulele and dance performances, are noted for their shock humor and prolific virality. Jeff Ellis (born 16 July 1984) is an American recording engineer and mix engineer. His most notable work was featured on both of Frank Ocean's critically acclaimed albums: ''Channel Orange'', and ''Blonde''. Career In 2009, after changing careers from finance to music, Ellis garnered an internship at EastWest Studios, formerly United/Western Recorders, where artists such as Frank Sinatra and The Beach Boys once recorded. Mastering, a form of audio post production, is the process of preparing and transferring recorded audio from a source containing the final mix to a data storage device (the master), the source from which all copies will be produced (via methods such as pressing, duplication or replication).
