Smith-Moore House
The Smith-Moore House is a historic house at 901 North Main Street in Beebe, Arkansas. It is a -story wood-frame structure, with a side gable roof, weatherboard exterior, and a foundation of brick piers. Its front facade has three gabled wall dormers above its entry porch, and there is a carport extending to the right. The house was built about 1880, and is one of the few houses in White County surviving from that period. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992. It was delisted in 2018. Beebe is a city in White County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 7,315 at the 2010 U.S. Census, making it the second most populous in the county. The city is home to Arkansas State University-Beebe. ASU-Beebe also has branch campuses in Heber Springs and Searcy and at Little Rock Air Force Base. History The community was named after Roswell Beebe, a railroad executive responsible for bringing the rail line that runs through the city. Beebe was incorporated in 1875. A gable roof is a roof consisting of two sections whose upper horizontal edges meet to form its ridge.
