Post-punk (originally called new musick) is a broad genre of punk music that emerged in the late 1970s as musicians departed from punk's traditional elements and raw simplicity, instead adopting a variety of avant-garde sensibilities and non-rock influences. Inspired by punk's energy and DIY ethic but determined to break from rock cliches, artists experimented with styles like funk, electronic music, jazz, and dance music; the production techniques of dub and disco; and ideas from art and politics, including critical theory, modernist art, cinema and literature. Cirrhosis
Cirrhosis, also known as liver cirrhosis or hepatic cirrhosis, and end-stage liver disease, is the impaired liver function caused by the formation of scar tissue known as fibrosis due to damage caused by liver disease. Damage causes tissue repair and subsequent formation of scar tissue, which over time can replace normal functioning tissue, leading to the impaired liver function of cirrhosis. The disease typically develops slowly over months or years. Early symptoms may include tiredness, weakness, loss of appetite, unexplained weight loss, nausea and vomiting, and discomfort in the right upper quadrant of the abdomen. As the disease worsens, symptoms may include itchiness, swelling in the lower legs, fluid build-up in the abdomen, jaundice, bruising easily, and the development of spider-like blood vessels in the skin. Soul Jazz Records is a British record label based in London. Outside of releasing records, the label also publishes books, occasionally films and performs as a DJ set. The music releases labels from a variety of genres, including reggae, house music, house, hip hop music, hip hop, punk rock, jazz, funk, bossa nova and soul music, soul. History Soul Jazz Records was founded by Stuart Baker in 1991. Baker purchased his first record at the age of 10 and prior to starting the label, had his roots selling records at a secondhand record vinyl stall in the Camden market in the late 1980s. The label initially worked doing straight reissues of old albums before releasing ''Nu Yorica!'', a double album of classic salsa music, salsa and Latin funk from the 1970s. The Sexual Life Of The Savages
''The Sexual Life of the Savages'' (subtitled ''Underground Post-Punk from São Paulo, Brazil'') is a compilation album produced by Bruno Verner and Eliete Mejorado (the components of avant-garde music duo Tetine), and released in 2005 by British record company Soul Jazz Records. It contains a collection of songs from various artists that formed the São Paulo post-punk movement of the early 1980s. The album's name is an allusion to a verse of the song "Nosso Louco Amor" by Gang 90 e as Absurdettes, one of the bands present in the compilation. Depicted in the album's front cover is Patife Band's frontman Paulo Barnabé. Critical reception The album received positive reviews. Scott Hreha of PopMatters stated: "If there's one drawback to the disc as a whole, it's the relative transparency of many of the bands' inspirations, which doesn't diminish its importance as much as it makes for an entertaining critical exercise". ''Noite e Dia'' (Portuguese for ''Night and Day'') is the second and last studio album by Brazilian post-punk band Smack. It was released in 1986 by Baratos Afins. It is the only Smack release to not feature Edgard Scandurra, since he left the band in the same year in order to give more focus to his alternate band Ira!. He returned to Smack when they reunited in 2005, however. It was also the band's last release to feature Thomas Pappon, since he moved to England in the mid-1990s; he would not partake on the band's reunion. ''Ao Vivo no Mosh'' (Portuguese for ''Live at the Mosh'') is the debut album by Brazilian post-punk band Smack. Recorded live at the Estúdios Mosh in São Paulo (albeit without an audience), it was released in 1985 by Baratos Afins. Track listing "Fora Daqui" and "Mediocridade Afinal" were later re-released in the compilation album ''The Sexual Life of the Savages'', released by Soul Jazz Records in 2005. Reception ''Ao Vivo no Mosh'' has been described as "a bouncingly vigorous slice of vinyl from Brazil's seldom exposed underground" by ''Spin'' columnist Andrea Enthal. Although originally well received by rock audiences, the album is now considered an obscurity and a collector's item. Kleiderman was a short-lived punk rock band from São Paulo, Brazil. The band was formed by Branco Mello, Sérgio Britto (both members of Brazilian rock band Titãs Titãs () are a Brazilian rock band from São Paulo. The band was initially named Richard Clayderman after the pianist, but the name was later changed to avoid problems with the label.
