Allen Holubar
Allen Holubar (August 3, 1890 – November 20, 1923) was an American actor, film director, and screenwriter of the silent film era. He appeared in 38 films between 1913 and 1917. He also directed 33 films between 1916 and 1923. Career Allen Holubar started out as an actor on the stage where he met his wife Dorothy Phillips in the Chicago production of ''Every Woman''. While she turned to the screen and continued to act he became a director and even produced. Encouraged by these successes, together they formed the Allen Holubar Production Company in 1920. His 1918 film ''The Heart of Humanity'' was exhibited at Museum of Modern Art, The Museum of Modern Art in 2014. Marriage and death Holubar was married to actress Dorothy Phillips for eleven years from 1912 until his death in 1923 from pneumonia, following surgery, at the age of 33. Rosemary Theresa Theby (born Rose Masing, April 8, 1892 – November 10, 1973) was an American film actress. She appeared in some 250 films between 1911 and 1940. Early life and career The daughter of George and Katherine Masing, Theby was born in St. Louis, Missouri. She studied at the Convent of St. Alphonsus in St. Louis and at Sargent's School in New York City. A contemporary newspaper account described her as being of "medium-height, well proportioned, with regular features and dark hair". Theby began working with Vitagraph studios in 1910. Her first film experience came in that company's production of ''The Wager''. By 1915, she was a star for the Universal film company. During World War I Theby took care of a refugee from Lithuania. After being educated and cared for by Theby, the young woman became her maid during an acute shortage of maids in Hollywood, in 1920. Robert Schable
Robert Schable (August 31, 1873 – July 7, 1947) was an American stage and screen actor as well as a stage manager from Hamilton, Ohio. Biography A longtime stage player from the Charles Frohman company since the 1890s, Schable began in silent films in 1919. In films he often played comedic, character parts or men with a European flair. He died, from Ptomaine poisoning, in Hollywood in 1947. Alternately ''IMDb'' has his death as a suicide.
