Skåne Western (constituency)
Skåne Western is one of the multi-member constituencies of the Riksdag, the national legislature of Sweden. As of the 2018 Swedish general election, Skåne Western elected 11 of the 349 members of the Riksdag. Skåne Western contains eight municipalities: Höganäs, Helsingborg, Bjuv, Landskrona, Svalöv, Eslöv, Höör, and Hörby. Linda Lindberg
Linda Lindberg (born 2 November 1974) is a Swedish politician of the Sweden Democrats and Member of the Riksdag since 2018. She has served as Leader of the Sweden Democrats in the Riksdag since 2023. Lindberg ran a floristry business and has been active in the Sweden Democrats since 2012 and was elected to the party's national board in 2015. She also serves as the chairwoman of SD-women, the women's wing of the Sweden Democrats. Lindberg was elected to the Riksdag in 2018 and sits on the EU Committee. In this role, she has campaigned against a common EU pension system, EU influence over childcare policies in Sweden and called for the EU's power of member states to be "minimized." Höganäs Municipality
Höganäs Municipality (''Höganäs kommun'') is one of 290 municipalities of Sweden, in Skåne County in the southern part of the country. Its seat is located in the city of Höganäs. The rural municipality Höganäs, in which the first ''municipalsamhälle'' (a kind of borough managing matters of urban character) of Sweden had been established in 1875, received the title of a city in 1936. In 1967 it was merged with ''Väsby''. The present municipality was created with the reform in 1971 when the city was amalgamated with ''Brunnby'' and ''Jonstorp''. The Swedish Election Authority ( sv, Valmyndigheten) is a government agency responsible for organizing national elections and referendums in Sweden. The agency began its operations on 1 July 2001 when it took over the responsibilities from the Swedish National Tax Board. Local and regional elections are the responsibility of the respective municipalities and county councils, however these elections always take place concurrently with the national elections for the Riksdag. 2018 Swedish General Election
General elections were held in Sweden on 9 September 2018 to elect the 349 members of the Riksdag. Regional and municipal elections were also held on the same day. The incumbent minority government, consisting of the Social Democrats and the Greens and supported by the Left Party, won 144 seats, one seat more than the four-party Alliance coalition, with the Sweden Democrats winning the remaining 62 seats. The Social Democrats' vote share fell to 28.3 percent, its lowest level of support since 1911. The main opposition, the Moderates, lost even more support. The Sweden Democrats made gains, though less than anticipated.
