Skärholmen Borough
Skärholmen is a suburban area in the district of Söderort in south-western Stockholm, Sweden. Together with Bredäng, Sätra and Vårberg, it forms the borough of Skärholmen. The community primarily consisting of ''Million Programme'' style apartment buildings from the 1960s and early 1970s. It is one of the larger and more well known suburbs of Stockholm. Skärholmen Centrum (also now as SKHLM), one of the biggest shopping centres in Sweden is situated in Skärholmen. Metro station The Skärholmen metro station was opened in 1967. The station is on the Red line (''Tunnelbana 2'') of the Stockholm metro. Skärholmen Centrum, also known and contracted as SKHLM, is a shopping center located in the Skärholmen borough of Stockholm in Sweden. The mall has a total gross leasable area of , including of public services, and is anchored by ICA, Systembolaget, H&M and Åhléns. It was inaugurated in 1968 by Prince Bertil, Duke of Halland and has been refurbished a number of times, most notably in 2008, when it was reopened by King Carl XVI Gustav. IFK Stockholm
IFK Stockholm is multi-sports club in Stockholm, Sweden. It is most known for its football team. Background The club was formed 1 February 1895 as IF Kamraterna (IFK) by two young students, Louis Zettersten and Pehr Ehnemark, and was the first IFK club. The club soon changed name to IFK Stockholm to differentiate it from the other IFK clubs that were formed in various towns in Sweden. The club had minor successes in the early days of Swedish football, but from 2008 to 2010, resided in Division 5, part of the regional leagues of the Swedish football league system. The club is affiliated to the Stockholms Fotbollförbund. The club also sponsors bowling and swimming. Stockholm Metro
The Stockholm metro ( sv, Stockholms tunnelbana) is a rapid transit system in Stockholm, Sweden. The first line opened in 1950, and today the system has 100 stations in use, of which 47 are underground and 53 above ground. There are three coloured lines, as shown on the tube maps, which form seven numbered routes with different termini. Routes numbered 17, 18 and 19 (green line), 13 and 14 (red line) and 10 and 11 (blue line) all go through the centre of the city, resulting in a very centralized system. Million Programme
The Million Programme ( sv, Miljonprogrammet) was an ambitious public housing program implemented in Sweden between 1965 and 1974 by the governing Swedish Social Democratic Party to ensure the availability of affordable, high quality housing to all Swedish citizens. The program sought to construct one million new housing dwellings over a ten-year period, which it accomplished. As part of its intention to modernize Swedish housing, it also demolished many older buildings that national and local governments considered obsolescent, unhealthy or derelict. At the time, the intention to build one million new homes in a nation with a population of eight million made the Million Programme the most ambitious building programme in the world. Vårberg
Vårberg is a suburb in the Skärholmen borough in the Söderort region of Stockholm, Sweden. Location Vårberg borders Skärholmen, Vårby gård, Huddinge, Estbröte, Kungshatt, and Ekerö. It has an area of 197 hectares of land and 65 hectares of water. Its population is 8,454 as of 31 December 2007. Vårberg contains the highest natural point in Stockholm, Vikingaberget, which is 77.24 meters above sea level.
