Skyline (Honolulu)
Skyline is a light metro system in the City and County of Honolulu on the island of Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi. Phase 1 of the project opened June 30, 2023 and lies entirely outside of Urban Honolulu, linking East Kapolei (on the ʻEwa Plain) and Aloha Stadium. Phase 2, connecting to Pearl Harbor and Daniel K. Inouye International Airport before reaching Middle Street, is anticipated to open in mid-2025. The final phase, continuing the line across Urban Honolulu to Downtown, is due to open in 2031. Its construction constitutes the largest public works project in Hawaiʻi's history. The , automated fixed-guideway line was planned, designed, and constructed by the Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation (HART), a semi-autonomous government agency. Hālawa Station
Hālawa station (also known as Aloha Stadium station) is an under construction Honolulu Rail Transit station in Halawa, Hawaii, serving Aloha Stadium, Aiea, Salt Lake, and Moanalua. When completed, it will have 600 park and ride spaces. The Hawaiian Station Name Working Group proposed Hawaiian names for the nine rail stations on the Ewa end of the rail system (stations west of and including Aloha Stadium) in November 2017, and HART adopted the proposed names on February 22, 2018. Muliufi Francis Hannemann (born July 16, 1954) is an American politician, businessman, and non-profit executive. He was elected twice as Mayor of Honolulu in 2004 and 2008. Bus rapid transit (BRT), also called a busway or transitway, is a bus-based public transport system designed to have much more capacity, reliability and other quality features than a conventional bus system. Typically, a BRT system includes roadways that are dedicated to buses, and gives priority to buses at intersections where buses may interact with other traffic; alongside design features to reduce delays caused by passengers boarding or leaving buses, or paying fares. Jeremy Harris (born December 7, 1950) is an American politician who served as Mayor of Honolulu, Hawaii from 1994 to 2004. A biologist by training, Harris started his political career as a delegate to the 1978 Hawaii State Constitutional Convention. Frank Francis Fasi (August 27, 1920 – February 3, 2010) was an American politician who was the longest-serving Mayor of Honolulu, Hawaii, serving for 22 years.
