Skye Nicolson
Skye Brittany Nicolson (born 27 August 1995) is an Australian professional boxer. As an amateur she competed in the featherweight event at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, winning the gold medal. Nicolson competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics. In her first bout in the women's Feather (54–57 kg) preliminaries she beat Im Ae-ji from Republic of Korea on points. She was beaten in the quarterfinals by Kariss Artingstall from Great Britain. Early years Nicolson was born at Logan Hospital in Meadowbrook, Queensland. Her father is Scottish-born Allan, originally from Glasgow. She grew up on the Gold Coast and attended Our Lady's College throughout her upbringing. Nicolson started boxing training at 12 years of age in the Gold Coast suburb of Yatala at the Jamie Nicolson Memorial Gym, which is named after her late brother. Karriss Artingstall (born 23 November 1994) is an English amateur boxer. She won a bronze medal at the 2020 Olympics, silver at the 2019 European Championships and bronze at the 2019 World Championships. She is a former member of the Royal Horse Artillery. Cardiff International Arena (formerly known as Cardiff International Arena & Convention Centre and later, for sponsorship reasons, Motorpoint Arena Cardiff) is an indoor exhibition centre and events arena located in Cardiff, Wales, and was opened on 10 September 1993 by singer Shirley Bassey. She held the WBA female super flyweight title from 2016 to 2018 and challenged for the WBO female super flyweight title in 2014 and 2018. Jamie Nicolson
James Neil Nicolson (9 November 1971 – 28 February 1994) was an Australian boxer. He won a bronze medal at the 1989 World Amateur Boxing Championships in Moscow and a bronze medal at the 1990 Commonwealth Games in Auckland, before competing at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona.
