Doves (band)
Doves are an English indie rock band formed in Manchester. The band is composed of twin brothers Jez Williams (guitar, vocals) and Andy Williams (drums, vocals), and Jimi Goodwin (bass, vocals, guitar). Additionally, the band employs Martin Rebelski, as a touring and session musician on keyboards. The band released four studio albums between 2000 and 2009, two of which reached #1 on the UK album charts. A compilation album, '' The Places Between: The Best of Doves'', was released in April 2010. Doves went on hiatus in 2010. During this time Goodwin released his first solo album, ''Odludek'' (2014), while the Williams brothers regrouped as Black Rivers. In December 2018, Doves announced they were ending their hiatus by performing for the Teenage Cancer Trust at London's Royal Albert Hall on 29 March 2019. Echoboy
Richard Daniel Warren (born 3 June 1973 in Sutton-in-Ashfield) is an English musician, songwriter and producer. Warren has performed with the groups The Hybirds and The Cold Light of Day and as a solo artist as Echoboy, Modlang and under his own name. Career Warren signed his first record deal with Heavenly Recordings at the height of Britpop in 1996, as one third of The Hybirds.* In 1999 when the band split, he branched out on his own and away from guitar-led pop, signing to Mute Records as Echoboy after Daniel Miller heard his releases on Earworm Records following his self-released 12" ''Flashlegs (Suite)''. Warren went on to release several self-produced solo albums on Mute as well as Giraffe, which was produced by Flood, and having put together a band he toured extensively with, amongst others, Elastica, Add N to (X) and Broadcast. Columbidae () is a bird family consisting of doves and pigeons. It is the only family in the order Columbiformes. Ryuichi Sakamoto
is a Japanese composer, pianist, singer, record producer and actor who has pursued a diverse range of styles as a solo artist and as a member of Yellow Magic Orchestra (YMO). With his bandmates Haruomi Hosono and Yukihiro Takahashi, Sakamoto influenced and pioneered a number of electronic music genres. Sakamoto began his career while at university in the 1970s as a session musician, producer, and arranger. His first major success came in 1978 as co-founder of YMO. He concurrently pursued a solo career, releasing the experimental electronic fusion album '' Thousand Knives'' in 1978. Two years later, he released the album ''B-2 Unit''. It included the track "Riot in Lagos", which was significant in the development of electro and hip hop music. Martin Rebelski
Martin Rebelski (born Martin Roman Rebelski, Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, England; sometimes credited as simply Rebelski) is a multi-instrumentalist musician and the keyboardist for Doves, acting as the band's unofficial fourth member. As a composer and recording artist in his own right, Rebelski has also released two instrumental solo albums: ''Thanks for Your Thoughts'' on Heavenly Records in 2003, and ''Stickers on Keys'' on Twisted Nerve Records in 2004. Career Rebelski acts as Doves unofficial fourth member. Rebelski was recommended by a friend of Rob Gretton to play as a session musician for Doves, but soon became the band's touring keyboard player. ''Some Cities'' is the third studio album by the British indie rock band Doves. The album was released by Heavenly Recordings on 21 February 2005, and became the band's second consecutive album to top the UK Albums Chart at number 1. ''Some Cities'' was conceived as a rawer, stripped-down record, and conceptually touches upon the physical changes of the band's hometown of Manchester, as well as emotional transformations.
