Sky Larkin
Sky Larkin is an English indie rock band from Leeds, West Yorkshire, England, who formed in 2005. Early history In common with many bands from Leeds, Sky Larkin released two singles on the Leeds-based label Dance To The Radio. Songs of theirs appeared on Dance To The Radio compilation albums 'Something I Learned Today' and 'Out Of The Woods And Trees', the former featuring 'Summit' and the latter featuring the Napoleon IIIrd remix of 'Keepsakes' In both 2006 and 2007 they appeared on the unsigned stage at the Leeds Festival. During this time they would play around the UK on bills with the likes of Los Campesinos!, Nosferatu D2, Johnny Foreigner, Wild Beasts and others. In 2008 they released the 'Swit Swoo' EP digitally as a covers collection. Katie Harkin
Katie Harkin (born 12 April 1986) is an English musician and songwriter, originally from Leeds, England. She was the vocalist and guitarist for Sky Larkin and a touring member with Courtney Barnett, Sleater-Kinney and Wild Beasts. She has since released two solo albums under the name Harkin. Career Harkin was a founding member of Sky Larkin from 2005 to 2014, performing guitar, keyboards and vocals while acting as the band's main songwriter. She formed the band while attending university with her childhood friend Nestor Matthews. The group released two singles on Dance To The Radio and three albums on Wichita Recordings. In 2011 Harkin toured with Wild Beasts in support of their album ''Smother'' and composed the score for 2016 Turner Prize winner Helen Martin's CGI animation ''Dust and Piranhas'' for Serpentine Galleries, The Serpentine Gallery in London. Death Cab for Cutie is an American rock band formed in Bellingham, Washington, in 1997. The band is currently composed of Ben Gibbard (vocals, guitar, piano), Nick Harmer (bass), Dave Depper (guitar, keyboards, backing vocals), Zac Rae (keyboards, guitar), and Jason McGerr (drums). Kate Mostel, born Kathryn Harkin (1918-1986) was an American dancer, actress and memoirist. Life Kathryn Cecilia Harkin was born in Philadephia on October 8, 1918. The youngest of eight children, she made her first stage appearance in the children's act ''Broadway Varieties''. After leaving high school, she joined Catherine Littlefield's ballet company. After leaving the company later, she danced in nightclubs in Chicago, New Jersey, New York, and Rio de Janeiro. In 1940 she became a Rockette at Radio City Music Hall. In 1944 she married the actor Zero Mostel. The couple had two sons, Joshua and Tobias. Kate Mostel moved into acting, appearing on Broadway in ''The Bird Cage'', ''The Ladies of the Corridor'' and ''Three Men on a Horse''. Frightened Rabbit were a Scottish indie rock band from Selkirk, formed in 2003. Initially a solo project for vocalist and guitarist Scott Hutchison, the final lineup of the band consisted of Hutchison, his brother Grant (drums), Billy Kennedy (guitar, bass), Andy Monaghan (guitar, keyboards), and Simon Liddell (guitar). From 2004, the band were based in Glasgow. The group is known for the stage presence of lead singer Tim Harrington. The band is signed to Frenchkiss Records, which is owned by the band's bassist, Syd Butler. Blood Red Shoes are an English alternative rock duo from Brighton consisting of Laura-Mary Carter and Steven Ansell. The Cribs
The Cribs are a British indie rock band originally from Wakefield, West Yorkshire, that formed in 2001. The band consists of twins Gary and Ryan Jarman and their younger brother Ross Jarman. They were subsequently joined by ex-The Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr who was an official member of the group from 2008 until 2011.
