Sky High Corral
''Sky High Corral'' is a 1926 American silent Western film directed by Clifford Smith and starring Art Acord, Marguerite Clayton, and Duke R. Lee. Plot As described in a film magazine review, after the federal government declares a certain tract of land a game preserve, rancher Bill Hayden and his daughter Shasta are set to be evicted. Forest ranger Jack McCabe falls in love with Shasta. Hayden's secret enemy, Whitey Durk, steals Hayden's cattle and tells him that the rangers are responsible. Jack saves both Hayden and his daughter from Durk's men. The criminals are finally rounded up and the law establishing the game preserve is repealed. Shasta confesses her love for McCabe. Clifford Smith (director)
Clifford Smith (1894–1937) was an American film director who also occasionally film actor, acted and film producer, produced. He directed over eighty films between 1915 and 1937 as well as several serial film, serials, doing much of his work for Universal Pictures. Primarily a director of western film, westerns he worked with leading genre stars such as William S. Hart. Jack Mower
Jack Mower (September 5, 1890 – January 6, 1965) was an American film actor. He appeared in more than 520 films between 1914 and 1965. He was born in Honolulu and died in Hollywood. After studying at Punahou College, in Honolulu, Mower moved to the mainland, and performed in vaudeville and in musical comedies on stage. His work on screen included serials and silent films. Mower was a leading man in silent films, but played bit parts after sound films came into vogue.
