Sky Eats Airplane (album)
''Sky Eats Airplane'' is the second and final album by American metalcore band Sky Eats Airplane. The album was recorded in early 2008 with producer Brian McTernan and was released on July 22. The album contains 11 tracks, 8 of which are new and 3 of which that are re-recorded versions of previously released demos. The album is the band's first album as a 5 piece and without former vocalist/programmer Brack Cantrell. It is also the first and last album with vocalist Jerry Roush. Prior to the album's release a video for the first single "Numbers" was made and was released on March 27, 2009. The album debuted at #172 on The ''Billboard'' 200 chart with first week sales of 4,000. Sky Eats Airplane
Sky Eats Airplane was an American post-hardcore band from Fort worth, Texas, Fort Worth, Texas. The band was signed to indie label Equal Vision Records and most recently released their self-titled full-length album through the label in July 2008. In March 2012, the official Sky Eats Airplane Facebook fan page indicated that there would be new SEA music sometime that year, although in November it was revealed that the band appears to be in an indefinite hiatus. History Formation (2005) Sky Eats Airplane was formed originally by Arlington Heights High School students Brack Cantrell and Lee Duck of the band Our First Fall. The Independent Albums chart (previously titled Top Independent Albums) ranks the highest-selling independent music albums and extended plays (EPs) in the United States, as compiled by Nielsen SoundScan and published weekly by '' Billboard'' magazine. It is used to list artists who are not signed to major labels. Top Heatseekers are "Breaking and Entering" music charts issued weekly by ''Billboard'' magazine. The Heatseekers Albums and the Heatseekers Songs charts were introduced by ''Billboard'' in 1991 with the purpose of highlighting the sales by new and developing musical recording artists. Albums and songs appearing on Top Heatseekers may also concurrently appear on the ''Billboard'' 200 or ''Billboard'' Hot 100. Gerald Allen "Jerry" Roush (born November 15, 1986) is an American musician, best known as the former vocalist for Sky Eats Airplane, Of Mice & Men, and Glass Cloud. He has also volunteered as a substitute vocalist for American Me during their Japan tour. Musical career Sky Eats Airplane (2006–2009) After answering a national casting call to join the fledgling metalcore band, Sky Eats Airplane, Roush was announced as the permanent vocalist. Oh, Sleeper is an American metalcore band from Fort Worth, Texas that formed in 2006 with former members of Terminal. In over a decade's span, Oh, Sleeper has released four full-length albums, two EPs, and toured worldwide as an opening act. After independently releasing ''The Titan EP'' and traveling in the full Van's Warped Tour 2013, the band went on hiatus to allow clean vocalist and lead guitarist Shane Blay to join As I Lay Dying members in starting California-based metal band Wovenwar. Post-hardcore is a punk rock music genre that maintains the aggression and intensity of hardcore punk but emphasizes a greater degree of creative expression. It was initially inspired by post-punk and noise rock. Like post-punk, the term has been applied to a broad constellation of groups.
