Skodje is a village in Ålesund Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The village is located along the shore of the Skodjevika, an inlet off the main Ellingsøyfjorden. The village of Valle is located along European route E39/European route E136 highway just a few kilometers south of the village. Skodje Church is located in the village and the historic Skodje Bridge lies just west of the village. The village has a population (2018) of 2,466 and a population density of . Møre og Romsdal (; en, Møre and Romsdal) is a county in the northernmost part of Western Norway. It borders the counties of Trøndelag, Innlandet, and Vestland. The county administration is located in the town of Molde, while Ålesund is the largest town. Skodje (''pronunciation'': kɔʏəor køʏə is a former municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. It was part of the Sunnmøre region. The administrative centre was the village of Skodje. The other main village in the municipality was Valle. The European Route E39/ E136 highway runs through the municipality, connecting it to the nearby cities of Ålesund and Molde. Kunnskapsforlaget () is a Norwegian publishing company based in Oslo. Kunnskapsforlaget was established in 1975, as a partnership between H. Aschehoug & Co. (W. Nygaard) and Gyldendal Norsk Forlag. Skodje Bridge
The Skodje Bridge ( no, Skodje bru) is a bridge that crosses the Skodjestraumen in Ålesund Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. It is located south of the village of Tennfjord, west of Skodje, and northwest of Valle. There are actually three bridges over Skodjestraumen. The newest bridge is called the Straum Bridge ( no, Straumsbrua). It is a steel arch bridge that is long. It was opened on 3 July 2004. It replaced the old Skodje Bridge. This new bridge is a toll bridge. Old bridges The two old Skodje Bridges are also arch bridges, the longest masonry arch road bridge in Norway. Skodje Church
Skodje Church ( no, Skodje kyrkje) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Ålesund Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. It is located in the village of Skodje. It is the church for the Skodje parish which is part of the Nordre Sunnmøre prosti ( deanery) in the Diocese of Møre. The white, wooden church was built in a long church design in 1860 using plans drawn up by the architect Fritz Meinhardt. The church seats about 330 people. History The earliest existing historical records of the church date back to 1432, but the church was not new that year. The first church in Skodje was a wooden stave church that may have been built in 14th century. European Route E39
European route E39 is the designation of a north–south road in Norway and Denmark from Klett, just south of Trondheim, to Aalborg via Bergen, Stavanger and Kristiansand. In total, there are nine ferries, more than any other single road in Europe. In Trondheim, there are connections to E6 and E14.
