Skaudvilė
Skaudvilė (, Samogitian: ''Skaudvėlė'', german: Skaudwill, pl, Skaudwile) is a city in the Tauragė district municipality of Lithuania. It is located north-east of Tauragė. History During the Second World War, in August 1941, the Jewish community of the town was massacred in a mass execution perpetrated by an einsatzgruppen. 300 Jews were killed. In Lithuania, there are 103 cities (in Lithuanian language, Lithuanian: Grammatical number, singular – miestas, plural – miestai). Samogitian ( sgs, žemaitiu kalba, link=no or sometimes ', ''žemaitiu šnekta'' or '; lt, žemaičių tarmė, žemaičių kalba) is an Eastern Baltic languages, Eastern Baltic language spoken mostly in Samogitia (in the western part of Lithuania). In Lithuania, it is mostly treated as a dialect of Lithuanian language, Lithuanian, but it is also considered as a separate language by some linguists inside and outside of Lithuania. Its recognition as a distinct language is increasing in recent years, and attempts have been made to Standard language, standardize it.
