Skateboarding At The 2020 Summer Olympics – Men's Park
The 2020 Summer Olympics men's park skateboarding competitions took place on August 5, 2021 at the Ariake Urban Sports Park in Tokyo, Japan. Competition format The twenty participating skateboarders were sorted into four heats of five skaters each for the semifinals (prelims). During the semifinals, each skater did three 45-second runs in their designated heat. The best run score of each skater's three runs built a ranking. The eight top-ranked skaters from the combined ranking of the heats qualified for the final. Results Semifinals The top 8 skateboarders of 20 advanced to the final. is an outdoor sports facility located in the Ariake district of Kōtō, Tokyo and built for the 2020 Summer Olympics. The venue covers a total area of 97,000 m². Zion Wright (born February 3, 1999) is a regular-footed American skateboarder. In 2019, Wright solidified himself as one of the newest generation's stars after being named a member of the USA Skateboarding Team. Early life Wright grew up in Jupiter, Florida. He first started skateboarding at the age of 4 and quickly became a respected skateboarder in his home state of Florida. At the age of 16, Wright moved from his hometown to Los Angeles, California in hopes of advancing his skateboarding career. Cycling At The 2020 Summer Olympics – Men's BMX Freestyle
The men's BMX freestyle event at the 2020 Summer Olympics took place on 31 July and 1 August 2021 at the Ariake Urban Sports Park. 9 cyclists from 8 nations competed. Background This was the debut appearance of the event, with freestyle BMX added to the programme for the first time (BMX racing was added in 2008). The reigning (2021) World Champion is Logan Martin of Australia, who was also the 2017 winner and 2019 silver medalist. The 2020 Summer Olympics men's street skateboarding competition occurred on 25 July 2021 at Ariake Urban Sports Park in Tokyo, Japan. It was originally scheduled to be held in 2020, but on 24 March 2020, the Olympics were postponed to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Yuto Horigome (skateboarder), Yuto Horigome of Japan won the gold medal, with Kelvin Hoefler of Brazil and Jagger Eaton of the United States winning the silver and bronze medals. Dallas Oberholzer (born 27 June 1975) is a South African professional skateboarder. He competed in the men's park event at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics and was the 2nd oldest competitor, in this event behind Rune Glifberg. He finished 20th in the 2021 competition. Rune Glifberg (born 7 October 1974), nicknamed "The Danish Destroyer", is a Danish professional skateboarder. He is one of three skaters to have competed at every X Games. He has a total of 12 X Games medals.
