Skateboard GB
Skateboard GB is the governing body for skateboarding in the UK and represents the home nations of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland at the National Olympic Committee. In December 2020 Skateboard GB was the recipient of a UK Sport grant of £1,672,485 for the Paris 2024 Olympics. The grant represents a significant increase from the £166,825 awarded by the UK government-backed Aspiration Fund in 2018 for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. In July 2020 founding chair Lucy Adams stepped down to spend more time with her family and was replaced by Alex Jordan. Team GB Skateboard GB is responsible for selecting, preparing and managing the British Skateboarding Team which includes Sky Brown who was set to become Britain's youngest Olympian at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. A National Olympic Committee (NOC) is a national constituent of the worldwide Olympic movement. Sam Beckett (skateboarder)
Sam Beckett (born 20 April 1992) is a British professional skateboarder. In 2016, he became the first skateboarder from the United Kingdom to win Gold in the Summer X Games. Early life Beckett was born in Norwich, Norfolk. Career Beckett first began vert skating with his friend and future fellow professional skateboarder Paul-Luc Ronchetti. Due to the lack of appropriate ramps in the local area, the pair had to travel as far as Peterborough and Birmingham to practice. After winning the UK vert series in 2008, Beckett moved to California the following year to further his career. Whilst living there, he joined the Dew Tour, and became the first British skater to land a 720 on a vert ramp. is a British-Japanese professional skateboarder and surfer who competes for Great Britain. She is the youngest professional skateboarder in the world, and has also won the American TV programme '' Dancing with the Stars: Juniors''.
