Skarpnäck Metro Station
Skarpnäck is a Stockholm metro station located in the Skarpnäcksfältet subdistrict of Skarpnäcks Gård district, Skarpnäck borough. The station is the southern terminus for the green line 17 and the easternmost Stockholm metro station (as of ). The station is below ground and was opened on 15 August 1994 as a one-station extension from Bagarmossen, making it the hundredth station in the Stockholm metro. As of it is still the newest station in the system. The underground Bagarmossen metro station was opened at the same time, but replaced an older station in Bagarmossen, which was closed on 8 July 1994. Skarpnäck is an underground station with a single vault spanning across the island platform and tracks; its span of is the largest in the Stockholm metro. Skarpnäck is a borough (''stadsdelsområde'') in the southern part of Stockholm, Sweden. Overview This area corresponds mostly with the Skarpnäck parish. Shotcrete, gunite (), or sprayed concrete is concrete or mortar conveyed through a hose and pneumatically projected at high velocity onto a surface, as a construction technique, first used in 1907 invented by Carl Akeley. It is typically reinforced by conventional steel rods, steel mesh, or fibers. Shotcrete is usually an all-inclusive term for both the wet-mix and dry-mix versions invented by Akeley. In pool construction, however, ''shotcrete'' refers to wet mix and ''gunite'' to dry mix. In this context, these terms are not interchangeable. Clinker Brick
Clinker bricks are partially-vitrified bricks used in the construction of buildings. Clinker bricks are produced when wet clay bricks are exposed to excessive heat during the firing process, sintering the surface of the brick and forming a shiny, dark-colored coating. Clinker bricks have a blackened appearance, and they are often misshapen or split. Clinkers are so named for the metallic sound they make when struck together. Clinker bricks are denser, heavier, and more irregular than standard bricks. Clinkers are water-resistant and durable, but have higher thermal conductivity than more porous red bricks, lending less insulation to climate-controlled structures. Granite
Granite () is a coarse-grained (phaneritic) intrusive igneous rock composed mostly of quartz, alkali feldspar, and plagioclase. It forms from magma with a high content of silica and alkali metal oxides that slowly cools and solidifies underground. It is common in the continental crust of Earth, where it is found in igneous intrusions. These range in size from dikes only a few centimeters across to batholiths exposed over hundreds of square kilometers. Richard Nonas
Richard Nonas (January 3, 1936 – May 11, 2021) was an American anthropologist and post-minimalist sculptor. He lived and worked in New York City. Education Nonas was educated in literature and anthropology at University of Michigan, Lafayette College, Columbia University, and the University of North Carolina. He followed this with field-work studies on Native American sites in Northern Ontario, Canada, and in Northern Mexico and Southern Arizona before becoming a sculptor. Work Nonas' Post-minimalist sculptural practice addressed notions of space, place, and deep time. His work from the 1970s involves experimentation with modes of presentation as well as material experimentation in which he used granite curbstones, linear wooden beams, and other raw materials. Bagarmossen metro station is on the green line of the Stockholm metro, located in Bagarmossen, Söderort in the south of Stockholm. The surface station was opened on 18 November 1958 as the southern terminus of the extension from Hammarbyhöjden Hammarbyhöjden is a city district in Stockholm, Sweden. SL C20
The SL C20 is a type of subway train used in the Stockholm metro, Sweden. Between 1997 and 2004, 271 3-car sets, numbered 2000–2270, were delivered to Stockholm by the former Kalmar Verkstad, owned by Adtranz, later acquired by Bombardier Transportation. The C20 is a completely new design and therefore is not compatible with other train types in the system. At , each carriage is longer than the previous train types. To save cost and weight, each unit has only four bogies. The middle car has two bogies. The end parts consist of one bogie each and are connected to the central portion via a semi-trailer-direction. Skarpnäcksfältet ( en, The Skarpnäck Field) is a subdistrict of Skarpnäcks Gård in the Skarpnäck borough of Stockholm, Sweden. Skarpnäcksfältet was built in the 1980s, and has 8,734 inhabitants as of December 31, 2009. History Archaeological findings, such as a hill fort and stone circles near Flatensjön, indicate that Skarpnäcksfältet and nearby areas were populated by vikings as early as the 10th century. Skarpa by Skarpa, a cottage of the Årsta property, was first mentioned in the will of Duke Valdemar in 1318, where it was listed as one of his donations to Uppsala domkyrka. Skarpa derives from the word ''skarp'' ( en, sharp), and is believed to have indicated the soil quality, which was heavy loam.
