Sjra Schoffelen
Gerardus Cornelius (Sjra) Schoffelen ( Roosteren, 1 August 1937) is a Dutch sculptor. Schoffelen studied at the Maastricht Institute of Arts (1953-1957) and the Jan van Eyck Academie (1958–1962) in Maastricht and the ''Staatliche Hochschule für Bildende Künste'' in Berlin (1962–1964). He was a student of Fred Carasso and Bernhard Heiliger, among others. In 1969 he won the Henriëtte Hustinx Prize. Schoffelen was a teacher at the '' Katholieke Leergangen'' in Tilburg (1970–1979) and the Academy of Visual Arts in Maastricht (1971–1990). As a sculptor he produced fountain statues, portraits and free sculptures, often abstract from an organic point of view. He joined the '' Beroepsvereniging van Beeldende Kunstenaars'' and the '' Nederlandse Kring van Beeldhouwers''. Schoffelen lives and works in the Etzenraderhuuske near Jabeek. Lelystad
Lelystad () is a municipality and a city in the centre of the Netherlands, and it is the capital of the province of Flevoland. The city, built on reclaimed land, was founded in 1967 and was named after Cornelis Lely, who engineered the Afsluitdijk, making the reclamation possible. Lelystad is approximately below sea level. Sittard-Geleen (; li, Zittert-Gelaen ) is a municipality in the southeastern Netherlands. It was formed in 2001 from the former municipalities Sittard, Geleen and Born. Horst is a village in the Dutch province of Limburg. It is located in the municipality of Horst aan de Maas. Onze Lieve Vrouweplein
The Onze Lieve Vrouweplein ("Square of Our Lady"; ; li, Slevrouweplein ) is a square in the historic center of Maastricht, the Netherlands. The square is situated south of Maastricht's pedestrianised shopping district. Well known for its many café terraces, it is a popular place with tourists and local people alike. The Onze Lieve Vrouweplein was originally named ''Onze-Lieve-Vrouwekerkhof'', because it was the churchyard of the Basilica of Our Lady and the neighbouring parish church of Saint Nicholas (demolished in 1838). The Romanesque Basilica of Our Lady is famous for the statue of Our Lady, Star of the Sea, the 12th-century figurative capitals in the choir ambulatory, and the church treasury (''Schatkamer Onze-Lieve-Vrouwebasiliek''). Dronten
Dronten () is a municipality and a town in the central Netherlands, in the province of Flevoland. It had a population of in . History Plans for the municipality of Dronten were made in the early half of the 1950s; real plans for the town of Dronten (the municipality's center) were revealed in 1958. The foundations for the town were laid in 1960. Right from the start there was a discussion whether Dronten was to become a town or a city. The first plans assumed 15,000 inhabitants, while later plans foresaw a growth to 30,000 inhabitants. The first plans for the municipality assumed ten smaller villages situated around the central town (in this case, Dronten). The number of villages was reduced because of increased motorized traffic and experiences gained in developing the Noordoostpolder, where a similar municipality had already been built.
