Sjoeke Nüsken () (born 22 January 2001) is a German professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Women's Super League club Chelsea and the Germany national team. Club career Early career Before she focused on playing football, at the age of eleven, Nüsken was the best German tennis player in her age class. In retrospect, she explained her preference for football: "I'm just a team player. It's so much more fun for me to celebrate with the whole team than just for myself. And above all, my sister was also a footballer, which made the decision easier". Up to the age of 18, Nüsken played in a boys team at SV Westfalia Rhynern in the town of Hamm. In her last season with the club, she needed permission by the German Football Association, having surpassed the level up to which girls were allowed to play in a boys team. The Women's Super League (WSL), currently known as the Barclays Women's Super League (BWSL) for sponsorship reasons, is the highest league of women's football in England. Established in 2010, it is run by the Football Association and features twelve fully professional teams. The league replaced the FA Women's Premier League National Division as the highest level of women's football in England, with eight teams competing in the 2011 FA WSL, inaugural 2011 season. In the WSL's first two seasons, there was no relegation from the division. 2023–24 FA Women's League Cup
The 2023–24 FA Women's League Cup was the thirteenth edition of the Women's Super League and Women's Championship's league cup competition. It was sponsored by Continental AG, who have sponsored the competition since its creation in 2011, and was officially known as the FA Women's Continental Tyres League Cup for sponsorship reasons. All 24 teams from the WSL and Championship contested the competition. Arsenal were the defending champions. A hat-trick or hat trick is the achievement of a generally positive feat three times in a match, or another achievement based on the number three. Origin The term first appeared in 1858 in cricket, to describe H. H. Stephenson taking three wickets with three consecutive deliveries.
