The sixth federal electoral district of Sonora ''(Distrito electoral federal 06 de Sonora)'' is one of the Federal Electoral Districts of Mexico, 300 electoral districts into which Mexico is divided for elections to the federal Chamber of Deputies (Mexico), Chamber of Deputies and one of seven such districts in the States of Mexico, state of Sonora. It elects one deputy to the lower house of Congress of Mexico, Congress for each three-year legislative period by means of the Plurality voting system, first-past-the-post system. Votes cast in this district also count towards the calculation of proportional representation ("plurinominal") deputies elected from the Electoral regions of Mexico, first region. San Miguel De Horcasitas
San Miguel de Horcasitas is a town in San Miguel de Horcasitas Municipality, in the Mexican state of Sonora. San Miguel is located in the center of the state at an elevation of 518 meters. The settlement was founded in 1749 as a military fort. The name is in honor of the Vicerey of New Spain, Don Juan Francisco de Güemez y Horcasitas, first Count of Revillagigedo, who was governing New Spain at the time.
