Six Springs Creek is a tributary of Rattlesnake Creek in Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania, in the United States. It is approximately long and flows through Spring Brook Township. The watershed of the creek has an area of . Wild trout naturally reproduce in the creek and it is considered to be a High-Quality Coldwater Fishery. However, it has been affected by sewage contamination. The surficial geology in the creek's vicinity consists of Wisconsinan Till, bedrock, Wisconsinan Ice-Contact Stratified Drift, and wetlands. Course Six Springs Creek begins in a valley near Interstate 380 in Spring Brook Township. It flows south for several tenths of a mile and crosses Pennsylvania Route 307 before turning southwest, receiving two unnamed tributaries from the left and entering a valley. Spring Brook (also known as Spring Brook Creek) is a tributary of the Lackawanna River in Lackawanna County and Luzerne County, in Pennsylvania, in the United States. It is approximately long and flows through Covington Township, Spring Brook Township, and Moosic in Lackawanna County and Pittston Township in Luzerne County. The watershed of the stream has an area of . It is designated as a High-Quality Coldwater Fishery and a Migratory Fishery above Interstate 476 and as a Coldwater Fishery and a Migratory Fishery below it. A section is also designated as Class A Wild Trout Waters. The stream's tributaries include Panther Creek, Plank Bridge Creek, Rattlesnake Creek, Green Run, Monument Creek, and Covey Swamp Creek. The Nesbitt Reservoir is located on Pennsylvania Route 502 in Spring Brook Township, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania. History and notable features This reservoir is managed and protected by the Pennsylvania American Water Company (PAWC). It provides a fresh water supply to approximately 75,000 area residents and is situated on Spring Brook, the second-largest tributary to the Lackawanna River. Pennsylvania Route 690
Pennsylvania Route 690 (PA 690) is a state highway located in Lackawanna and Wayne counties in Pennsylvania. The western terminus is at PA 502 in Spring Brook Township. The eastern terminus is at PA 590 in Salem Township. The route is a two-lane undivided road running through rural and some developed areas southeast of Scranton. Superficial deposits (or surficial deposits) refer to geological deposits typically of Quaternary age (less than 2.6 million years old). These geologically recent unconsolidated sediments may include stream channel and floodplain deposits, beach sands, talus gravels and glacial drift and moraine.
