Six (band)
Six were an Irish pop group who formed on the Irish version of the television programme ''Popstars'' in 2002. The programme aired on RTÉ One on Sunday nights in the autumn and winter of 2001–02. The band were signed to Simon Cowell under BMG Records UK and managed by Louis Walsh who also appeared as a judge on the show. Their first single, " There's a Whole Lot of Loving Going On", is currently the fastest and third-biggest selling single in Irish history. Career Sinéad Sheppard, Emma O'Driscoll, Kyle Anderson, Sarah Keating, Andy Orr and Liam McKenna were the winners of the show who earned a place in Six. Nadine Coyle was originally selected to be in the band, however was disqualified after it became clear she had lied about her age and that she was only sixteen years old. She was replaced by Keating. Same Difference
Same Difference were an English bubblegum pop duo from Portsmouth, England, made up of siblings Sean Smith and Sarah Smith. They came to prominence in 2007 when they finished third in the fourth series of the ITV talent show, ''The X Factor''. Their music was targeted mostly at children who are 13 and under. Their debut single, " We R One", was released on 24 November 2008, and their debut album, '' Pop'', followed on 1 December 2008. In November 2009, it was announced that Same Difference had signed a new record deal with PopLife Records, and their second album was released on 7 February 2011. On 24 December 2014, Same Difference broke the news that they had disbanded but were still considering as to whether to release their third and final album, ''Superheroes''. Cobh
Cobh ( ,), known from 1849 until 1920 as Queenstown, is a seaport town on the south coast of County Cork, Ireland. Bubble Hits
Bubble Hits was an Irish-owned digital television music channel owned by Creative Sounds. It broadcast two channels, one for Ireland, and a Pan-European feed which covered the United Kingdom, Hungary, Romania, Poland and Germany. On 13 February 2009, Bubble Hits went off air and was removed from most of TV EPGs. The websites, including the official one and social networking versions on MySpace and Bebo l, were also removed. The closure of the channel was due to the current downturn in advertising revenue. Location Bubble Hits studios were located in Ashbourne, County Meath, Ireland at the Creative Sounds studios. The channel was broadcast free-to-air, therefore viewers did not need to have a Sky subscription to view it. People In Need Telethon
The People in Need Trust was a charity in Ireland. It was deregistered in 2016. Its main fundraiser, the RTÉ People in Need Telethon, was broadcast by RTÉ from 1989 until 2007 and supported by Eircom (formerly Telecom Éireann), raising more than €35 million in total. The theme tune was " Come On Everybody" by Eddie Cochran. As with ''The Late Late Toy Show'', Gay Byrne presented it wearing distinctive knitted jumpers. Previously there was Self Aid on 17 May 1986 followed by Telethon For The Homeless on 10 June 1988. The event was replaced by RTÉ Does Comic Relief on 26 June 2020.
