Siv Henriette Jacobsen
Siv Henriette Jacobsen (born 14 January 1966) is a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party. She has been the Chairwoman of the County Cabinet of Viken since 14 October 2021, succeeding Tonje Brenna. She served as a deputy representative to the Parliament of Norway from Østfold during the terms 2005–2009 and 2017–2021. Hailing from Andøy, she studied in the US and settled at Jeløya. Østfold is a traditional region, a former Counties of Norway, county and a current electoral district in southeastern Norway. A county council ( no, Fylkesting) is the highest governing body of a county municipality (''fylkeskommune'') in Norway. The county council sets the scope of the county municipal activity. Viken (county)
Viken is a county under disestablishment in Eastern Norway that was established on 1 January 2020 by the merger of Akershus, Buskerud and Østfold with the addition of three other municipalities. Viken was controversial from the onset, with an approval rating of about 20% in the region, and the merger was resisted by all the three counties. Viken has been compared to gerrymandering. The county executive of Viken determined in 2019, before the merger had taken effect, that the county's disestablishment is its main political goal, and the formal process to dissolve Viken was initiated by the county executive in right after the 2021 Norwegian parliamentary election in which parties seeking to reverse the merger won a majority.
