Sithmina is a Sinhala language education paper targeted for Ordinary Level (O/L) students in Sri Lanka. This is the only education paper which publishes weekly according to the O/L Syllabus. It is published by the Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Limited (Lake House), a government-owned corporation. The newspaper commenced publishing in 2012 under the guidance of Lake House Chairman Bandula Padmakumara Godewatta Arachchige Bandula Padmakumara ( si, බන්දුල පද්මකුමාර; 2 June 1950 – 24 February 2022), popularly as Bandula Padmakumara, was a Sri Lankan journalist and television presenter. Bandula Padmakumara
Godewatta Arachchige Bandula Padmakumara ( si, බන්දුල පද්මකුමාර; 2 June 1950 – 24 February 2022), popularly as Bandula Padmakumara, was a Sri Lankan journalist and television presenter. He was an iconic figure of Sri Lankan media and journalism most notable for the popular television programs ''Mul Pituwa'' and ''Loka Sithiyama''. He was also a former Editor in Chief of '' Lakbima'' newspaper and former Chairman of ''Lake House''. Personal life He was born on 2 June 1950 in the village of Mapalana, Matara, Sri Lanka. He received his primary education from Rahula College, Matara. Padmakumara completed education from Richmond College, Galle and Ananda College, Colombo. His father Sugathapala Godawatte was a very staunch socialist and a school principal. Associated Newspapers Of Ceylon Limited
Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Limited (ANCL), also known as Lake House. It publishes three daily, three weekend, five weekly, two monthly and three annual publications in Sinhala, English and Tamil. Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Limited is a public limited liability company incorporated in Sri Lanka in 1926 by its founder D. R. Wijewardena. 75% of its shares were Nationalized under the Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Limited (Special Provisions) Law No. 28 of 1973 and this stake is held by the Public Trustee of Sri Lanka on behalf of the Government. Sinhala Language
Sinhala ( ; , ''siṁhala'', ), sometimes called Sinhalese (), is an Indo-Aryan languages, Indo-Aryan language primarily spoken by the Sinhalese people of Sri Lanka, who make up the largest ethnic group on the island, numbering about 16 million. Sinhala is also spoken as the first language by other ethnic groups in Sri Lanka, totalling about 2 million people as of 2001. It is written using the Sinhala script, which is a Brahmic scripts, Brahmic script closely related to the Grantha script of South India. Sinhala is one of the official and national languages of Sri Lanka. Along with Pali, it played a major role in the development of Theravada, Theravada Buddhist literature. A state-owned enterprise (SOE) is a government entity which is established or nationalised by the ''national government'' or ''provincial government'' by an executive order or an act of legislation in order to earn profit for the government, control monopoly of the private sector entities, provide products and services to citizens at a lower price and for the achievement of overall financial goals & developmental objectives in a particular country.
