Sisters Creek, Tasmania
Sisters Creek is a locality and small rural community in the local government areas of Waratah-Wynyard and Circular Head, in the North-west and west region of Tasmania. It is located about north-west of the town of Wynyard. The Bass Highway passes through from east to west, and the watercourse named Sisters Creek flows through from south to north. The 2016 census determined a population of 134 for the state suburb of Sisters Creek. History An 1851 map of Tasmania names a range of hills in the vicinity as the “Sisters”. The name seems to have been applied to the nearby creek. The hills were subsequently officially named “Two Sisters”. The Sisters is a settlement in Victoria, Australia. It is located about 38 km north east of Warrnambool and about 17 km northwest of Terang Terang is a town in the Western District of Victoria, Australia. Inglis River
The Inglis River is a river in North West Tasmania, Australia, it extends approximately from the Campbell Ranges near Takone before discharging into Bass Strait at Wynyard. The Flowerdale River is the largest tributary system on the Inglis River and makes up approximately one-third of the Inglis-Flowerdale catchment basin. Inglis-Flowerdale catchment area While not tributaries of the main river system, Sisters Creek and Seabrook Creek are notable minor creeks which form part of the Inglis-Flowerdale catchment area. Annual rainfall ranges from about at the coast to greater than in the upper reaches of the catchment, some inland from Wynyard. Forestry plantations dominate the landscape in the western region of the catchment, with intensive agriculture land-use in the north and eastern regions.
