Sister (In Solitude Album)
''Sister'' is the third and final album by Swedish heavy metal band In Solitude. This is their second album to be released through Metal Blade Records, having signed with the label in 2010, and was released on 1 October 2013. The album was recorded at Studio Cobra in Stockholm in March 2013 and was produced and mixed by Martin "Konie" Ehrencrona. Reception The album averaged 78/100 on Metacritic which indicates "generally favorable reviews". Andy O'Connor, writing for Pitchfork, gave the album 7.1/10 and was largely positive about the album. In particular, he praised the song "Pallid Hands", writing that the song "brings a romanticism that hasn't been seen in metal in a while, and is the group's finest song to date. It recalls 70s Judas Priest's more bittersweet moments, a casualty of the group's success in the 80s, or a more serious stab at April Wine's ' Sign of the Gypsy Queen'. In Solitude are a young band—Palm is the oldest member at 26—and for them to craft a song ...

''Suddenly'' is the tenth studio album by Canadian musician Dan Snaith, released under the moniker Caribou by Merge Records and City Slang on February 28, 2020. It is Snaith's fifth album as Caribou, and his first since '' Our Love'' (2014). Background and recording Snaith had approximately 900 "draft ideas" for the album that he cut down to 12 complete tracks. The album's themes include the nature and constant evolution of relationships with family and friends. Snaith named the album ''Suddenly'' because of his daughter's "obsession with the word". Critical reception Tom Sloman of ''DIY'' stated that the album "continues Caribou's knack of releasing albums that are both accessible and explorative". Seth Wilson of ''Slant Magazine'' wrote that "What makes the album so spectacular, though, is Snaith's voice. This is the first Caribou effort on which he sings on every track, and his vocals are mixed higher than they have been in the past. Throughout, his mesmerizing vocals elevate ...

The record was the band's follow-up to their commercial breakthrough, ''Brothers'' (2010), and was their third collaboration with Danger Mouse. ''El Camino'' draws from popular genres of the 1950s to 1970s, such as rock and roll, glam rock, rockabilly, surf rock and soul. Danger Mouse contributed as a co-writer on each of the 11 songs alongside guitarist Dan Auerbach and drummer Patrick Carney. The album was recorded from March to May 2011 in Nashville, Tennessee, at Easy Eye Sound Studio, which Auerbach opened the year prior. After struggling to translate the slower songs from ''Brothers'' to a live sett ...
