Sisco (; co, Siscu) is a commune in the Haute-Corse department of France on the island of Corsica. It takes its name from the Ruisseau de Sisco, which flows through the commune and enters the Tyrrhenian Sea in the village of Sisco. Sisco (stream)
The Sisco (french: Ruisseau de Sisco) is a small coastal stream in the department of Haute-Corse, Corsica, France. It enters the Tyrrhenian Sea from the east of the Cap Corse peninsula. Course The Sisco is long and flows through the commune of Sisco, Haute-Corse. It rises at an altitude of on the side of the ''Guado a l'Alzi''. Its source is to the east of the Rocher de Pruberzulu and south of Pietracorbara. The stream flows east-southeast to the sea, where its mouth is in the town of Sisco. It enters the sea at the Sisco marina, to the north of the pebble beach. Woods along the Sisco are mainly composed of holm oak, cork oak, chestnut, olive, beech and alder. The D32 road parallels the stream for most of its course. Andrew Frank Sisco (born January 13, 1983) is an American former professional baseball pitcher. He has played in Major League Baseball for the Kansas City Royals and Chicago White Sox, in the Korean Professional Baseball League for the KT Wiz, and in the Chinese Professional Baseball League for the EDA Rhinos and the Brother Elephants. Chance Thomas Leo Sisco (born February 24, 1995) is an American professional baseball catcher for the Long Island Ducks of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball. He has played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Baltimore Orioles and New York Mets. Amateur career Sisco initially attended Temescal Canyon High School in Lake Elsinore, California. Sisco transferred to Santiago High School in Corona, California, for his junior year. Originally a shortstop and pitcher, he begin catching his senior year of high school. Robert Dickey "Jack" Sisco (November 2, 1904 – December 18, 1983) was an American football player, coach, and official. He served as head football coach at the University of North Texas from 1929 to 1941. With a record of 74–37–10, Sisco is the second winningest coach in school history, behind Odus Mitchell. His teams won seven conference championships and tied for three others. A native of Waco, Texas, Sisco prepped at Waco High School playing under coach Paul Tyson. He went on to attend Baylor University, where he was a lineman on the 1924 Baylor Bears football team that won the Southwest Conference title. After his coaching career, he became a college football referee best remembered for a controversial call in the 1947 Red River Shootout between the Texas Longhorns and Oklahoma Sooners.
