Siriporn Thaweesuk
Siriporn Thaweesuk (often known by her ring names, Samson Sor Siriporn or Samson Tor Buamas) (born 26 April 1983) is a female light-flyweight professional boxer from Lopburi Province, Thailand. She is a former WBC female world light flyweight champion. Thaweesuk was convicted of selling amphetamines and sentenced to ten years in prison. Thaweesuk won the title while serving a prison sentence, and was granted an early release from Thai prison after winning a world title, having been promised such prior to her victory. Originally a ten-year sentence, Thaweesuk served seven years. She defeated Japan's Ayaka Miyao in a title fight for the WBC female light flyweight championship, which was held in a boxing ring in Klong Prem Prison. As a result, she was granted an early release from the Women's Correctional Institute in Pathum Thani. Light Flyweight
Light flyweight, also known as junior flyweight or super strawweight, is a weight class in boxing. Professional boxing The weight limit at light flyweight in professional boxing is 108 pounds (49 kilograms). When New York legalized boxing in 1920, the law stipulated a "junior flyweight" class, with a weight limit of 99 pounds. When the National Boxing Association was formed in 1921, it also recognized this weight class. However, on January 19, 1922, the NBA decided to withdraw recognition of the junior flyweight division. On December 31, 1929, the New York State Athletic Commission also abolished the junior flyweight class. No champion had been crowned in this division prior to its abolition. The World Boxing Council (WBC) is an international professional boxing organization. It is among the four major organizations which sanction professional boxing bouts, alongside the World Boxing Association (WBA), International Boxing Federation (IBF) and World Boxing Organization (WBO). Momo Koseki
is a Japanese former professional boxer. She is a two-weight world champion, having held the WBC female atomweight title from 2008 to 2015; the WBA female atomweight title in 2015; and the WBC female strawweight title in 2017. Koseki has made a record-breaking seventeen consecutive title defenses of her WBC atomweight title. Career Koseki was inspired to take up boxing after watching Hiroshi Kawashima on TV. Koseki won the inaugural All-Japan women's amateur championships in 2003, as well as the second edition in 2004. Joana Pastrana Gallardo (born 29 September 1990) is a Spanish professional boxer who held the IBF female mini-flyweight title from 2018 to 2019. The Pan Asian Boxing Association also known as PABA is an organisation for professional boxing in the Central Asia, Oceania, Pan Pacific, Eurasia and Southeast and Far East nations. The Women's International Boxing Association (WIBA) is a sanctioning body for women's professional boxing came into existence in July 2000, and quickly grew into a major force in the sport. History The WIBA was officially founded by American Ryan Wissow, and Colombian Luis Bello-Diaz. Ryan Wissow is the president and owner of the WIBA.
