Siracusa Calcio
Siracusa Calcio was an Italian football club founded in 2013. In 2019 the first team of the club was withdrawn from the professional leagues. The club, originally known as A.C. Palazzolo A.S.D. relocated from Palazzolo Acreide to Syracuse in 2013, and took a new name Sport Club Siracusa (S.C. Siracusa). S.C. Siracusa replaced the 2013 folded club A.S.D. Città di Siracusa, an illegitimate phoenix club of U.S. Siracusa which itself was another illegitimate phoenix club of A.S. Siracusa. U.S. Siracusa and S.C. Siracusa had a derby in youth football in 2013–14 season. After the season S.C. Siracusa was renamed A.S.D. Città di Siracusa, and changed to Siracusa Calcio S.r.l. circa 2016. Stadio Nicola De Simone
Stadio Nicola de Simone (commonly known as La Fossa dei Leoni) is a football stadium in Syracuse, Sicily. It is the home of Siracusa football team and has a capacity of 5,946 spectators. The stadium was built in 1930 and was inaugurated in 1932. Palazzolo Acreide ( Sicilian: ''Palazzolu'', in the local dialect: ''Palazzuolu'') is a town and ''comune'' in the Province of Syracuse, Sicily (southern Italy). It is from the city of Syracuse in the Hyblean Mountains. History The area around Palazzolo Acreide has been inhabited since ancient times. 2007–08 Serie D
The 2007–08 Serie D was the sixty edition of the top level Italian non-professional football championship. It represented the fifth tier in the Italian football league system. It was composed by 162 teams divided into nine divisions of 18 teams each. The regular Serie D season started September 2, 2007 and continued through to May 4, 2008 with each team playing 34 matches, two matches against every other team in the division. The nine division winners were automatically promoted to 2008–09 Lega Pro Seconda Divisione, while the two last-placed teams were automatically relegated to Eccellenza. The Serie D () is the top level of semi-professional football in the country. The fourth tier of the Italian league system, the competition sits beneath the third professional league, Serie C. It is administered by the Lega Nazionale Dilettanti and is organized by the Roman ''Comitato Interregionale'' (Interregional Committee), a "league in the league" inside the LND. Promozione
The Promozione (, "promotion") is the sixth level in the Italian football league system. Each individual league winner within the Promozione level progresses to their closest regional league in the Eccellenza level. Depending on each league's local rules, a number of teams each year are relegated from each league, to the 7th level of Italian football, the Prima Categoria. This level of Italian football is completely amateur and is run on a regional level.
