Sir Kildare Borrowes, 5th Baronet
Sir Kildare Dixon Borrowes, 5th Baronet (20 January 1722 – 22 June 1790) was an Irish politician. He was the oldest son of Sir Walter Borrowes, 4th Baronet and his wife Mary Pottinger, daughter of Captain Edward Pottinger. In 1741, Borrowes succeeded his father as baronet. Between 1745 and 1776, he represented Kildare County in the Irish House of Commons. Borrowes was also elected for Randalstown in 1760, but chose not to sit. In 1751, he was appointed High Sheriff of Kildare. The main Borrowes family seat was at Barretstown Castle near Ballymore Eustace. They also inherited an estate at Calverstown in Kildare from their Dixon cousins (Kildare was the grandson of the Dixon heiress, Elizabeth). Vice-Admiral Charles James FitzGerald, 1st Baron Lecale PC (Ire) (30 June 1756 – 18 February 1810), styled Lord Charles FitzGerald between 1761 and 1800, was an Irish naval commander and politician. Background FitzGerald was the third son of James FitzGerald, 1st Duke of Leinster, and Lady Emily, daughter of Charles Lennox, 2nd Duke of Richmond and the second of the famous Lennox Sisters. He was the brother of William FitzGerald, 2nd Duke of Leinster, Lord Henry FitzGerald and Lord Edward FitzGerald. Through his mother he was a great-great-grandson of King Charles II. A baronet ( or ; abbreviated Bart or Bt) or the female equivalent, a baronetess (, , or ; abbreviation Btss), is the holder of a baronetcy, a hereditary title awarded by the British Crown. The title of baronet is mentioned as early as the 14th century, however in its current usage was created by James I of England in 1611 as a means of raising funds for the crown. Borrowes Baronets
The Borrowes Baronetcy of Grangemellon in the County of Kildare, was a title in the Baronetage of Ireland. It was created on 14 February 1646 for Erasmus Borrowes, High Sheriff of Kildare in 1641. Erasmus was the son of Henry Borrowes of Gilltown (died 1615), who emigrated from Devon to Ireland in the reign of Elizabeth I. Through his mother Jane, Erasmus was the grandson of the distinguished soldier and politician Sir Arthur Savage. Sir Walter Borrowes, 2nd Baronet, was High Sheriff of Kildare in 1673. Sir Kildare Borrowes, 3rd Baronet was twice High Sheriff of Kildare and a member of the Irish Parliament for Kildare County. His son Sir Walter Borrowes, 4th Baronet represented Harristown and Athy in the Irish Parliament. John O'Neill, 1st Viscount O'Neill
John O'Neill, 1st Viscount O'Neill PC (16 January 1740 – 18 June 1798) was an Irish politician. O'Neill was the son of Charles O'Neill (died 1769), Member of Parliament for Randalstown, by Catherine Brodrick, daughter of St John Brodrick, of Midleton, County Cork. He was returned to the Irish House of Commons for Randalstown in 1760, a seat he held until 1783, and then represented County Antrim between 1783 and 1793. He was sworn of the Irish Privy Council in 1781 and raised to the Peerage of Ireland as Baron O'Neill, of Shane's Castle in the County of Antrim, in 1793. In 1795 he was further honoured when he was made Viscount O'Neill, of Shane's Castle in the County of Antrim, in the Irish peerage. William Sharman
William "Will" Sharman (born 12 September 1984) is a British athlete who specialises in the 110 metres hurdles. He started his career as a junior high jumper and decathlete, but focused entirely on hurdling after a shoulder injury. He made his international debut for Great Britain at the 2006 European Athletics Championships and went on to compete at the 2007 Summer Universiade. Sharman came to prominence in 2009, after he significantly improved upon his previous personal best and finished fourth in the 110 metres hurdles final at the 2009 World Championships. This would be the first of three consecutive appearances in the World Championship final, he's since finished fifth in both the 2011 and 2013 finals.
