Sir John Coryton, 1st Baronet
Sir John Coryton, 1st Baronet (c. 1621 – 1680) was an English politician who sat in the House of Commons of England, House of Commons from 1660 to 1680. Coryton was the son of William Coryton, of West Newton Ferrers, St Mellion, Cornwall by his wife Elizabeth Chichester, 3rd daughter of John Chichester (died 1586), Sir John Chichester (died 1586) of Raleigh, Pilton, Raleigh, Devon, Sheriff of Devon in 1585. He was baptised on 29 July 1621 at St Mellion. He was fined £297 in 1651. In 1660, he was elected Member of Parliament for Callington (UK Parliament constituency), Callington in a by-election to the Convention Parliament (1660), Convention Parliament. In 1661 he was elected MP for Cornwall (UK Parliament constituency), Cornwall in the Cavalier Parliament. He was created a Coryton baronets, baronet on 27 February 1662. Sir Nikolaus Bernhard Leon Pevsner (30 January 1902 – 18 August 1983) was a German-British art historian and architectural historian best known for his monumental 46-volume series of county-by-county guides, ''The Buildings of England'' (1951–74). Life Nikolaus Pevsner was born in Leipzig, Kingdom of Saxony, Saxony, the son of Anna and her husband Hugo Pevsner, a Russian-Jewish fur merchant. Sir Richard Edgcumbe (13 February 1640 – 3 April 1688) was an English politician. Biography He was the eldest son of Piers Edgcumbe of Mount Edgcumbe House and Cotehele, Calstock, Cornwall, and his wife, Mary, daughter of Sir John Glanville of Broad Hinton, Wiltshire. He was the Member of Parliament for Launceston from 19 March 1661 to 14 February 1679 and MP for Cornwall from 1679 to 1681. He was appointed Knight of the Order of the Bath (KB) in 1661 in order to attend the coronation of Charles II. Francis Robartes
Francis Robartes FRS (c. 1649 – 3 February 1718) was an English politician who sat in the House of Commons at various times between 1673 and 1718. Early life Robartes was the fourth son of John Robartes, 1st Earl of Radnor and his second wife Letitia Isabella Smythe (1630–1714). He was baptised at Lanhydrock in Cornwall on 6 January 1650. He was at school at Chelsea under Mr Cary and was admitted at Christ's College, Cambridge on 2 May 1663 aged 13. Robartes was known as a musical composer and a writer of the theory of sound. He became a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1673. Political career In 1673, Robartes was elected Member of Parliament for Bossiney in the Cavalier Parliament and sat until 1679. Sir Jonathan Trelawny, 2nd Baronet (ca. 1623 – 5 March 1681), of Trelawny in the parish of Pelynt in Cornwall, England, was a Cornish Member of Parliament. Origins He was the fourth child and eldest son and heir of Sir John Trelawny, 1st Baronet (d. 16 February 1664), Sheriff of Cornwall for 1630. Career He entered Parliament in 1660 as a Member of Parliament for his family's pocket borough of East Looe in Cornwall and the prestigious county seat of Cornwall in 1661. Hugh Boscawen (1625 – 30 May 1701) was an English politician who sat in the House of Commons on seven occasions between 1646 and 1701. Origins Boscawen was the second son of Hugh Boscawen of Tregothnan, Cornwall by his wife Margaret Rolle, daughter of Robert Rolle (1560–1633) of Heanton Satchville, Petrockstowe, Devon. He was baptised on 21 August 1625. His brothers were Nicholas Boscawen, Charles Boscawen (1627–1689), and Edward Boscawen (1628–1685). He and his brothers Charles and Edward were MPs in Cornwall. His brother Edward was the father of Hugh Boscawen, 1st Viscount Falmouth (1680–1734). The Boscawens are an ancient Cornish family. Sir John Carew, 3rd Baronet (6 November 1635 – 1 August 1692) of Antony House, Antony, Cornwall, was an English politician who sat in the House of Commons of England, House of Commons variously between 1660 and 1692. Sir Cyril Wyche FRS ( – 28 December 1707) was an English lawyer, politician and administrator. He served two terms in the Dublin Castle administration as Chief Secretary for Ireland and was a Lord Justice of Ireland from 1693 to 1695. He was the fifth President of the Royal Society, and represented several constituencies in both the House of Commons of England and the Irish House of Commons. Sir Allen Brodrick (28 July 1623 – 25 November 1680) was an English politician who sat in the House of Commons between 1660 and 1679. Brodrick was the son of Thomas Brodrick, of Wandsworth, then in Surrey. He matriculated at Magdalen Hall, Oxford on 29 November 1639, aged 16 and was called to the bar at Gray's Inn in 1648.
