Sir Henry St John-Mildmay, 3rd Baronet
Sir Henry Paulet St John-Mildmay, 3rd Baronet (30 September 1764 – 11 November 1808), of Dogmersfield Park, Hampshire, was an English politician. Life St John was the only son of Sir Henry Paulet St John, Bt and his wife Dorothea Maria Tucker, daughter of Abraham Tucker of Betchworth Castle, Surrey, and was born on 30 September 1764. He matriculated at St John's College, Cambridge in 1781, graduating M.A. in 1785. St John succeeded to the baronetcy and Dogmersfield Park in 1784. He was a Member (MP) for Westbury 1796 – 1802, for Winchester 1802–1807 and for Hampshire 1807 – 11 November 1808. In 1790 St John succeeded his wife's great-uncle Carew Hervey Mildmay to Marks Hall, Essex and Hazelgrove, Somerset and took additional name of Mildmay. In 1796 he also succeeded his wife's aunt Anne, widow of Sir William Mildmay, 1st Bt., to Moulsham Hall, Essex. Dogmersfield Park
Dogmersfield Park or Dogmersfield House is a Grade I listed Georgian country house, now being used as a hotel. It is located in Dogmersfield, a small village in Hampshire, England. The land was recorded in the Domesday Book of 1086 as "Doccemere feld". Construction of the present building began in 1728 when a 3-storey rectangular block was built in brick in the Georgian style. Additional wings were added in the late 18th century and in the Victorian era to form a three-sided square enclosing a courtyard. The square was later completed with the addition of a modern chapel. History In medieval times the manor of Dogmersfield belonged to the Bishops of Bath and Wells, who built a palace there in the 13th century, probably on the site of the present house. Paulet St John-Mildmay
Paulet St John-Mildmay (8 April 1791 – 19 May 1845) was an English Liberal Party politician. He sat in the House of Commons as a Member of Parliament (MP) for Winchester from 1818 to 1835, and from 1837 to 1841. He was the third son of the fifteen children of Sir Henry St John-Mildmay, 3rd Baronet of Dogmersfield Park, Hampshire and his Jane, daughter and coheir of Carew Mildmay of Shawford House, Hampshire. He was educated at Winchester School from 1803–05. In 1813, he married Anna Maria Wyndham, daughter of Hon. Bartholomew Bouverie. They had 4 sons and 3 daughters. In 1808, he succeeded to his father's property of Hazlegrove House, near Sparkford in Somerset. He served as an ensign in the 2nd Foot Guards from 1807, and then as a lieutenant and captain from 1811–12. In 1813 he became a lieutenant in the Dogmersfield yeoman cavalry. Charles Smith (September 1756 – 9 May 1814) was a British politician. He sat in the House of Commons of Great Britain from 1796 until its abolition in 1800, and then in the House of Commons of the United Kingdom from 1801 to 1806. He was the only son of Charles Smith of Stratford, Essex, who he succeeded in 1777. John Simon Harcourt (14 December 1772 – 21 February 1810) of Ankerwycke, Buckinghamshire, was member of Parliament for Westbury 18 April 1800 - 1802. George Ellis FSARigg and Mills (19 December 1753 – 10 April 1815) was a Jamaican-born English antiquary, satirical poet and Member of Parliament. Samuel Estwick (1770–1797) was a British politician who sat in the House of Commons from 1795 to 1796. Estwick was the eldest son of Samuel Estwick of Barbados and Berkeley Street London and his second wife Grace Langford daughter of Jonas Langford of Theobald’s Park, Hertfordshire and was born on 22 January 1770. Admiral William Waldegrave, 1st Baron Radstock, GCB (9 July 175320 August 1825) was an officer in the Royal Navy and Governor of Newfoundland. Early life and education Waldegrave was the second son of John Waldegrave, 3rd Earl Waldegrave, and Elizabeth (née Gower). He was educated at Eton. Naval career Waldegrave joined the Royal Navy in 1766, initially in HMS Jersey, the flagship of the Mediterranean fleet. He was promoted to Lieutenant and later Commander in 1775 when he received command of the sloop HMS ''Zephyr''. He was further promoted to Captain in 1776 when he sailed to India in HMS Rippon, flagship of Admiral Edward Vernon.
