Sir George Blundell, 2nd Baronet
Sir George Blundell, 2nd Baronet (died 1675) was an Anglo-Irish politician. Blundell was the son of Sir Francis Blundell, 1st Baronet and Joyce Serjeant, and on 26 April 1625 he succeeded to his father's baronetcy. Blundell was the Member of Parliament for Dingle in the Irish House of Commons from 1639 to 1649. He held the office of High Sheriff of King's County in 1657. Between 1661 and 1666 he represented Philipstown in the Irish Commons. Anglo-Irish people () denotes an ethnic, social and religious grouping who are mostly the descendants and successors of the English Protestant Ascendancy in Ireland. A baronet ( or ; abbreviated Bart or Bt) or the female equivalent, a baronetess (, , or ; abbreviation Btss), is the holder of a baronetcy, a hereditary title awarded by the British Crown. The title of baronet is mentioned as early as the 14th century, however in its current usage was created by James I of England in 1611 as a means of raising funds for the crown. A baronetcy is the only British hereditary honour that is not a peerage, with the exception of the Anglo-Irish Black Knights, White Knights, and Green Knights (of whom only the Green Knights are extant). Blundell Baronets
Viscount Blundell was a title in the Peerage of Ireland. It was created in 1720 for Sir Montague Blundell, 4th Baronet, Member of Parliament for Haslemere between 1715 and 1722. He was made Baron Blundell, of Edenderry in the King's County, at the same time, also in the Peerage of Ireland. He had no surviving male issue and the titles became extinct on his death in 1756. The Blundell Baronetcy was created in the Baronetage of Ireland on 13 October 1620 for Sir Francis Blundell, Vice-Treasurer and Receiver-General of Ireland. He was succeeded by his son, the second Baronet. He represented both Dingle and Philipstown in the Irish House of Commons. His son, the third Baronet, sat in the Irish Parliament as the representative for King's County. Dudley Colley
Dudley Colley (ca. 1621 – July 1674) was an Irish Member of Parliament. He was the son of Sir Henry Colley (ca. 1585-1637) and Anne Peyton, daughter of Sir Christopher Peyton. The Colley or Cowley family had come to Ireland from Rutland about 1500 and produced a line of Crown servants and soldiers. Dudley's great-grandfather Sir Henry Colley acquired Carbury Castle in 1554. Dudley's father acquired substantial lands in County Wexford. He represented Philipstown in the Irish House of Commons during the Parliament of Charles II. Sir Francis Blundell, 1st Baronet
Sir Francis Blundell, 1st Baronet (4 September 1579 – 26 April 1625) was an English-born lawyer, politician and administrator in Ireland. Biography Blundell was the second son of a yeoman, John Blundell, and Catherine Budoxshyde. He was educated in law at Broadgates Hall until 1596 and then Christ Church, Oxford, graduating in 1603. Thanks to a familial connection to Richard Cooke, he was appointed Surveyor General of Ireland on 18 February 1609. Between 1613 and 1615 he was the Member of Parliament for Lifford in the Irish House of Commons. Blundell was a remembrancer for Irish affairs from 1617 to 1622, acting as intermediary between James VI and I and his government in Ireland. During this period, Blundell was knighted on 30 January 1618 and on 13 October 1620 he was created a baronet, of Edenderry in the Baronetage of Ireland.
