Sir Ambrose Cave
Sir Ambrose Cave (died 2 April 1568) was an English politician. Life Ambrose Cave was the son of Richard Cave (see Cave-Browne-Cave baronets) and Margaret Saxby of Stanford, Northamptonshire. He was educated at Cambridge University. He was knighted by 1525. He was a Member of Parliament for Leicestershire in 1545, 1547 and 1553 and for Warwickshire in 1558, 1559 and 1563 and High Sheriff of Warwickshire in 1549. He was also Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster (1558–1569) and Custos Rotulorum of Warwickshire (also 1558–1568). Cave married Margery Willington, daughter of William Willington. Their daughter Margaret married Sir Henry Knollys, privateer and MP. Cave-Browne-Cave Baronets
The Cave, later Cave-Browne, later Cave-Browne-Cave Baronetcy, of Stanford in the County of Northampton, is a title in the Baronetage of England. Origin It was created on 30 June 1641 for Thomas Cave, a Cavalier, Royalist who fought in the English Civil War. Granted lands in South and North Cave in Yorkshire by William the Conqueror, by the fifteenth century the Caves had moved to Stanford on the boundary of Northamptonshire and Leicestershire to become "a wealthy and powerful clan, foremost among the new men of the age, the ''nouveaux riches'', the shrewd, rapacious, grasping gentry raised up by the Tudor dynasty". Ralph Sadler
Sir Ralph Sadler or Sadleir Privy Council of England, PC, Knight banneret (1507 – 30 March 1587) was an English statesman, who served Henry VIII of England, Henry VIII as Privy Council of England, Privy Councillor, Secretary of State (England), Secretary of State and ambassador to Scotland. Sadler went on to serve Edward VI of England, Edward VI. Having signed the device settling the crown on Lady Jane Grey, Jane Grey in 1553, he was obliged to retire to his estates during the reign of Mary I of England, Mary I. Edward Waldegrave
Sir Edward Waldegrave (c. 15161 September 1561) was an English courtier and Catholic recusant. Family Edward Waldegrave was the eldest son of John Waldegrave (died 1543) by Lora Rochester, daughter of Sir John Rochester of Essex, and sister of Sir Robert Rochester. He was the grandson of Sir Edward Waldegrave of Bures, Suffolk, and a descendant of Sir Richard Waldegrave, Speaker of the House of Commons. Career In 1547 Waldegrave joined the household of Princess Mary, and was granted the manor and rectory of West Haddon, Northamptonshire. He also bought the manor of Borley in Essex, and made that his home. In 1551 he was imprisoned in the Tower of London by King Edward VI (with Rochester and Francis Englefield), for refusing to carry out the Privy Council's ban on Mary having mass said in her house of Copt Hall, near Epping, Essex.
