Siot Tanquincen
Bethune "Siot" Tanquingcen is a Filipino professional basketball head coach. He is currently an assistant coach for the Benilde Blazers. As coach, Tanquingcen has won three PBA championships: two with Barangay Ginebra San Miguel ( 2004 Fiesta Conference and 2004–2005 Philippine Cup) and one with the San Miguel Beermen ( 2009 Fiesta Conference). He was former player for the UST Growling Tigers in the UAAP, the Sunkist Orange Juicers and the San Miguel Beermen in the PBA and the Pampanga Dragons in the Metropolitan Basketball Association. He finished high school at the Philippine Cultural High School. Playing career Tanquingcen was one of the role players for the UST Tigers in their historic four-peat run from 1993 to 1996 under head coach Aric del Rosario. The 2004–05 PBA Philippine Cup, or known as the 2004-05 Gran Matador Brandy-PBA Philippine Cup for sponsorship reasons, was the All-Filipino Conference of the Philippine Basketball Association's (PBA) 2004-05 season. The Barangay Ginebra Kings won its first back-to-back titles with a 4-2 conquest of the Talk 'N Text Phone Pals. The series was marred by a controversial reversal of the Phone Pals' Game One victory after fielding in an ineligible Asi Taulava in the said game. Taulava was serving an indefinite suspension after being cited as one of six Filipino-American players with questionable citizenship papers. Estong Ballesteros
Ernesto "Estong" Ballesteros (born January 28, 1973 in Manila, Philippines) is a Filipino former professional basketball player in the Philippine Basketball Association. He was drafted fourth overall by Shell in 1997. Player profile Ballesteros played for several teams during his earlier career. He played for Shell, Coca-Cola, and for the Barangay Ginebra Kings. Aric Del Rosario
Januario "Aric" del Rosario (January 1, 1940 – March 25, 2020) was a Filipino basketball player and coach who served as head coach of the UST Growling Tigers in the UAAP, Pampanga Dragons in the Metropolitan Basketball Association, the 2003 RP Men's Team in the Southeast Asian Games, and of the UPHSD Altas from 2012 to 2015; until he retired and was made a consultant of the team in the NCAA. He was also a consultant and assistant Coach of Toyota-Balintawak Road Kings in the Philippine Basketball League. He was the commissioner of the NCAA (Philippines) from 2009 to 2011. The Metropolitan Basketball Association (MBA), or Metroball, was a professional basketball league in the Philippines that ran from March 7, 1998, to July 26, 2002. History The MBA played its first game on March 7, 1998, at the Don Narciso Ramos Sports Complex in Lingayen, Pangasinan. Unlike the Philippine Basketball Association, in which teams represent companies, the MBA teams represented a particular city, province or island in the country. The league brought basketball closer to the people, and it raided the PBA for talent. The MBA was widely viewed as broadcast giant ABS-CBN's attempt to undermine the PBA after failing to snatch its broadcast rights in 1998. UST Growling Tigers
The UST Growling Tigers are the college athletic teams representing the University of Santo Tomas in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines. They hold the most UAAP Overall Championships with 44 Seniors' Overall Championships (out of 73 seasons) and 21 Juniors' Overall Championships (out of 26 seasons). UST is one of four member universities that participate in all 15 sporting events of the league. The 2006–07 PBA Philippine Cup Finals was the championship series of the 2006-07 PBA season's 2006-07 PBA Philippine Cup of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). The series was a best of seven affair and was the 92nd championship disputed in the league.
