Siogo
''Siogo'' is the sixth album by the American Southern rock band Blackfoot, released in 1983. It is the first of two albums featuring former Uriah Heep keyboardist Ken Hensley. Although the band told their record company that "Siogo" was an Indian word for "closeness" or "togetherness", it is actually an acronym for "Suck It Or Get Out". According to guitarist Charlie Hargrett, it was coined by the band's road crew and put up as a sign in the front lounge of their tour bus during previous tours. "Heart's Grown Cold" is a cover and originally appeared on the 1980 Nazareth album '' Malice In Wonderland''. Blackfoot is an American Southern rock band from Jacksonville, Florida, formed in 1969. Though they primarily play with a Southern rock style, they are also known as a hard rock act. The band's classic lineup consisted of guitarist and vocalist Rickey Medlocke, guitarist Charlie Hargrett, bassist Greg T. Walker, and drummer Jackson Spires. They had a number of successful albums during the 1970s and early 1980s, including '' Strikes'' (1979), ''Tomcattin''' (1980) and ''Marauder'' (1981). Ken Hensley
Kenneth William David Hensley (24 August 1945 – 4 November 2020) was an English singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer, best known for his work with Uriah Heep during the 1970s. He wrote or co-wrote the majority of Uriah Heep's songs during this period, including the hit singles " Lady in Black" (on which he sang lead vocals), " Easy Livin'" and " Stealin'", as well as " Look at Yourself", and "Free Me". Biography Born in Plumstead, south-east London, Hensley moved with his parents, three brothers and sister to Stevenage, Hertfordshire, in 1945. He learned how to play guitar at the age of 12 from a Bert Weedon manual. His first gig was at The Mentmore Pen Factory, in Stevenage (September 1960). After that, he played with The Blue Notes, Ken and the Cousins and Kit and the Saracens (1962). In 1963, this band evolved into The Jimmy Brown Sound, and they recorded some now lost songs. Rickey Medlocke
Rickey Medlocke (born February 17, 1950) is an American musician, best known as the frontman/guitarist for the Southern rock band Blackfoot and a member of Lynyrd Skynyrd. During his first stint with Lynyrd Skynyrd from 1971 to 1972, he played drums and sang lead on a few songs that would initially be released on 1978's "First and Last". Medlocke would rejoin Blackfoot in 1972 and later returned to Lynyrd Skynyrd in 1996 as a guitarist with whom he continues to tour and record today. Being of Native American ancestry, specifically Lakota Sioux and Cherokee, Medlocke was inducted into the Native American Music Hall of Fame in 2008. Nazareth (band)
Nazareth are a Scottish hard rock band formed in Dunfermline in 1968 that had several hits in Canada, the United Kingdom, and a number of other European countries in the early 1970s. Zal Cleminson
Alistair Macdonald "Zal" Cleminson (born 4 May 1949) is a Scottish guitarist, best known for his role in The Sensational Alex Harvey Band between 1972 and 1978. In 2017, he put together a new rock band - /sin'dogs/, which recorded and released a 4-song CD and toured Scotland and England at the end of the year. Career A self-taught guitarist, at the start of the 1970s he played and recorded with the Glasgow-based band Tear Gas. The musicians in that band then provided the backing for Alex Harvey in The Sensational Alex Harvey Band (SAHB). Cleminson was an extremely distinctive stage presence with SAHB owing to his white-face mime makeup. ''Malice in Wonderland'' is the eleventh studio album by the Scottish hard rock band Nazareth, released in January 1980. After the heavy lurch of the previous album, the band chose to follow a more commercial path and the album produced the hit singles "Holiday" and "Heart's Grown Cold". This is the second and last studio album to feature guitarist Zal Cleminson of the Sensational Alex Harvey Band as a member of the band. The album was re-issued on Compact Disc in February 1991. The larger 2010 edition brought a range of bonus tracks, all extracted from a concert at the legendary Hammersmith Odeon, which were broadcast by the BBC for the In Concert program in 1980.
