Sinik Au Francos 2019
Thomas Gérard Idir (; born 26 June 1980), better known by his stage name Sinik, is a French-language rap artist. He is also known as Malsain, L'assassin and S.I.N.I.K.. His father is Algerian while his mother is French. In 2001, he founded his label ''Six o Nine'' (6-0-9). Collaborations / Feuds His meeting with Diam's at 14 was the turning point of his career. They consider themselves as ''brother and sister''. ''Le Toit du Monde'', released in 2007, contains a song called "Je réalise" which features British singer songwriter, James Blunt. The single is bilingual, with English parts performed by Blunt and French parts by Sinik. French hip hop is the hip hop music style developed in French-speaking countries. France is the second largest hip-hop market in the world after the United States. History Beginning of French hip hop: the 70s and 80s By 1982 and 1983, a number of hip hop radio shows had appeared on Paris radio, including "Rapper Dapper" (hosted by Sidney Duteil) and "Funk à Billy" (hosted by DJ Dee Nasty). In November 1982 the New York City Rap Tour, traveled around France and to London featuring Afrika Bambaataa, Grandmixer DST, Fab 5 Freddy, Mr Freeze and the Rock Steady Crew. Abd Al Malik (rapper)
Abd al Malik, born Régis Fayette-Mikano is a French rapper and spoken word artist of Congolese origin. He has also authored books in French, and directed a film adaptation of one of his books. Musical career In NAP: New African Poets Talented in words and music, he formed with his brother Bilal and his cousin Aissa, a rap group they called New African Poets also known by the abbreviation N.A.P. Other members included Mustapha, Mohammed and Karim, all from the neighborhood where he lived. Most of the group come from the Neuhof quartier of Strasbourg. Having converted from Christianity to Islam, he took on the stage name Abd al Malik. This was an adaptation of his birth name Régis, being derived from ''rex'' meaning "king" in Latin whereas ''Malik'' means "king" in Arabic. Sidney Duteil
Sidney Duteil (born Patrick Duteil in 1955), better known as Sidney, is a French musician, rapper, DJ, television and radio host, and occasional actor of Guadeloupean origin. Duteil was born in Argenteuil, Val-d'Oise. He is well known in France for his connection with the beginnings of the French hip hop scene. He presented a hip hop radio program on Radio 7 starting in 1982. In 1984, he was the host of the popular weekly French Rap television show entitled '' H.I.P. H.O.P.'' This was significant for two reasons: first because Duteil became the first Black man in France to hold such a position, and secondly because the birth and eventual popularity of the weekly show demonstrated the growing admiration and involvement in the French population in hip hop culture. William Thongrasamy (born 19 August 1982), known under the pseudonym Willy Denzey, is a Contemporary R&B and soul French-born singer of Laotian origin. Biography Denzey was born in Melun, France, and spent his childhood in Le Mée-sur-Seine. At 15, he formed with his friends a band named Prodyge. In June 2000, he participated in the broadcast ''Graines de star'' and reached the final. A producer noticed him and proposed him to release a disc. Oxaï Roura is a French composer, multi-instrumentalist, singer, filmmaker, and researcher in the field of ethnomusicology. Fascinated by the ancient African polyrhythms and chants, Oxaï received instruction from traditional masters of music (such as Famoudou Konaté and Mamady Keïta). Médine Zaouiche (; born 24 February 1983 in Le Havre), better known by his stage name Médine, is a French rapper of Algerian descent. He has been a part of the hip hop collective La Boussole since 1996. Médine is a practicing Muslim, and many of his lyrics deal with the hardships of migrants, oppressed individuals, and Muslims in the Western world. Charlotte Bendaoud (; born 14 March 1983), known by her stage name Vitaa (), is a French singer-songwriter. Biography Vitaa was discovered by DJ Kost, who paired her with Dadoo in a duet . They sang "Pas à pas" ('Step by Step'). It was at this event that she was first called "Vitaa."
