''Singel 39'' is a 2019 Dutch romantic comedy film directed by Frank Krom. The film won the Golden Film award after having sold 100,000 tickets. The film ranks in sixth place in the top 10 of best visited Dutch films of 2019. The title song of the film was made by Dutch singer-songwriter Douwe Bob. He also makes an appearance in the film as a waiter. Plot Cardiac surgeon Monqiue (Lies Visschedijk) has centered her life around her work. When extraverted gay artist Max (Waldemar Torenstra) moves in next door they develop a friendship which makes her realise there is more to life than work. The Golden Film ( nl, Gouden Film) is a film award recognizing domestic box office achievements in the Netherlands. The Golden Film is awarded to films from the Netherlands once they have sold . Douwe Bob Posthuma (born 12 December 1992), professionally known by only his first and middle names Douwe Bob, is a Dutch singer-songwriter. He won the Dutch talent show ''De beste singer-songwriter van Nederland''. He specializes in folk and country music and has released four albums. Waldemar Govinda Torenstra (born 29 March 1974 in Amsterdam) is a Dutch actor. For several years he worked as an actor in the Noord Nederlands Toneel (NNT, English language, En: "North Netherlands Stage"), a touring theater company. Career After finishing his secondary education, Torenstra enrolled at the University of Amsterdam to study economics, but eventually chose theater instead.
