Singapore Women's Tennis Exhibition
The Singapore Women's Tennis Exhibition is a women's exhibition tennis tournament held in Singapore at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, during the Friday - Sunday before Christmas. It is a year-ending tournament. The tournament is played under the traditional format, with 6 players invited to participate, where the top two players would receive automatic qualification into the semi-finals, whereas the other 4 players would compete in qualifying rounds for the other 2 places in the semi-finals. An exhibition game (also known as a friendly, a scrimmage, a demonstration, a preseason game, a warmup match, or a preparation match, depending at least in part on the sport) is a sporting event whose prize money and impact on the player's or the team's rankings is either zero or otherwise greatly reduced. Singapore Indoor Stadium
The Singapore Indoor Stadium, known exonymously as the Indoor Stadium, is an indoor arena located in Kallang, Singapore. It is within walking distance of the Singapore National Stadium, and collectively form a part of the wider Singapore Sports Hub. It has a maximum total capacity of 15,000 depending on configuration, with an all-seating configuration of 12,000. It regularly hosts events such as music concerts, badminton, basketball, netball, tennis, esports, pro-wrestling, mixed martial arts, kickboxing, and monster truck races. Following are the results of the 2011 Singapore Women's Tennis Exhibition, a women's exhibition tennis tournament organized at the end of each season. Players Anabel Medina Garrigues had withdrawn and tournament organisers wished to find a top 10 player to replace her, and being unable to do so, contacted Medina Garrigues and was reconfirmed. Flavia Pennetta
Flavia Pennetta (; born 25 February 1982) is an Italian former professional tennis player. She became Italy's first top-ten female singles player on 17 August 2009 and the first Italian to be ranked world No. 1 in doubles, on 28 February 2011. Peng Shuai (; born 8 January 1986) is a Chinese retired professional tennis player. In February 2014, she was ranked world No. 1 doubles player by the WTA, becoming the first Chinese tennis player to achieve that ranking (in either singles or doubles). Ana Isabel Medina Garrigues (, ; born 31 July 1982) is a Spanish tennis coach and former professional player. As a player she reached a career-high ranking of world No. 16 in 2020, and won 11 singles and 28 doubles titles, including the 2008 French Open, 2008 and 2009 French Open with Virginia Ruano Pascual.
