The Singapore Sun Festival is an annual music and life-style festival that runs over ten days and takes place in multiple venues across Singapore. The festival encompasses music, visual art, wine, cuisine, film, literature and wellness History Founded in 2007, it follows in the footsteps of the Tuscan Sun Festival, founded in 2003 by Barrett Wissman, cellist Nina Kotova and writer Frances Mayes. In the years since its foundation, it has featured performers from around the world, including Joan Chen, Geoffrey Rush, Elvis Costello, Al Jarreau, Deepak Chopra and more. Tuscan Sun Festival
The Tuscan Sun Festival is an annual music and lifestyle festival in Florence, the capital of Tuscany in Italy. ''The Independent'' called the festival “One of the Ten Best Summer Arts Festivals in Europe”.' Described by the ''International Herald Tribune'' as "a blend of Mozart and massages, Debussy and Dante, Tchaikovsky, and cuisine", the evening musical programme is balanced with daytime events including art exhibitions and culinary sessions with some of Tuscany’s chefs and winemakers. The Tuscan Sun Festival presents international soloists, conductors and chamber orchestras who perform in Florence's beautiful Teatro della Pergola. Nina Kotova
Nina Kotova is an American cellist of Eastern European decent. As well as being a versatile artist and an established composer she is a recording artist who performs both as a soloist with major orchestras and as a chamber musician. Education Kotova studied at the Moscow Conservatory, at the Musikhochschule in Cologne, and in the USA, giving her first performance as a soloist with orchestra at the age 11 and graduating summa cum laude. Career Kotova made her Western debut at the Wigmore Hall, performed at the Barbican Centre in London in 1996, signed contract and released her chart-topping debut album for Philips Classics, and made her Carnegie Hall debut in 1999. Frances Mayes
Frances Mayes is an American novelist. Her 1996 memoir '' Under the Tuscan Sun.'' was on the New York Times Best Seller list for over two years and was the basis for the film '' Under the Tuscan Sun''. Biography Born and raised in Fitzgerald, Georgia, Mayes attended Randolph-Macon Woman's College in Lynchburg, Virginia, and obtained her BA from the University of Florida. In 1975 she earned her MA from San Francisco State University, where she eventually became Professor of Creative Writing, director of The Poetry Center, and chair of the Department of Creative Writing.
