Singapore Aviation Academy
The Singapore Aviation Academy (SAA) is the primary educational and training facility of the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore. History Singapore Aviation Academy was established in 1958 at Paya Lebar Air Base. In 1972 the school was relocated to larger facilities at Seletar Airport under the new name''Civil Aviation Training Centre (CATC)''. The CATS was renamed as the ''Singapore Aviation Academy'' in 1990. Training SAA offers training to civil aviation personnel in Singapore as well as overseas in the areas of aviation management, aviation safety and security, air traffic services and airport emergency services. Since 1958, SAA has trained over 91,000 participants from 200 countries. Since 2015 SAA became one of the first established by ICAO ''Regional Training Centres of Excellence''. Government Of Singapore
The Government of Singapore is defined by the Constitution of Singapore to mean the executive branch of the state, which is made up of the president and the Cabinet. Although the president acts in their personal discretion in the exercise of certain functions as a check on the Cabinet and the Parliament, their role is largely ceremonial. It is the Cabinet, composed of the prime minister and other ministers appointed on their advice by the president, that have the general direction and control of the government. The Cabinet is formed by the political party that gains a simple majority in each general election. A statutory board is an autonomous agency of the Government that is established by an Act of Parliament and overseen by a government ministry. Changi Village
Changi Village is a modern village situated at the northern tip of Changi which is at the eastern end of Singapore. It is the usual connecting point for travellers heading to Pulau Ubin or Malaysia by ferry. Fishermen in the kelongs located in the Serangoon Harbour offshore also use this jetty as a drop off point to come onto mainland. Changi Village also has many resorts and leisure facilities to cater for a weekend getaway for many Singaporeans. The area is classified by Urban Redevelopment Authorities as under the planning area of Changi and in the subzone of Changi Point. It is also classified under District 17 for property indexing. Civil Aviation Authority Of Singapore
The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) is Singapore's civil aviation authority and a statutory board under the Ministry of Transport of the Government of Singapore. Its head office is located on the fourth storey of Singapore Changi Airport's Terminal 2. Overview Established on 1 September 1984, the CAAS regulates civilian air traffic within the airspace jurisdiction of the Republic. It also helps enable the growth of the air hub and aviation industry in Singapore, promotes safe industry practices and engages in civilian air-service agreements with air-service operators. Paya Lebar Air Base
The Paya Lebar Air Base is a military airbase of the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) located at Airport Road in Paya Lebar, in the eastern region of Singapore. The airbase goes by the motto of ''Strength Through Readiness''. It was originally built in 1954 as ''Singapore International Airport'' to replace Kallang Airport; control of the airport was transferred to RSAF in 1980 when it was renamed Paya Lebar Air Base, following the relocation of the civilian airport to Changi. Under the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA)'s Master Plan, Paya Lebar Air Base is scheduled to be decommissioned by around 2030 to make way for residential and commercial developments as a new town, with the RSAF relocating to other airbases throughout the country such as at Changi and Tengah, which will be expanded throughout the 2020s.
